IntellivisionDude #1 Posted January 9, 2012 This guy has both kinds of rare games, rare and very rare. And his very rares are Quality very rares. Says so in his auction. And i am not saying the games are or aren't worth what he's asking. Just making fun of how it's all worded. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 330669257626
Chuck D. Head #2 Posted January 9, 2012 And i am not saying the games are or aren't worth what he's asking. Just making fun of how it's all worded. Heh heh! Some people say everything that crosses their mind. This guys types everything that crosses his mind and posts it to ebay. I need everything in that auction 'cept the Buzz Bombers and Nova Blast, but I am thinking more like $80 shipped.

Rev #4 Posted January 9, 2012 LOL, that auction was actually pretty fun to read. I am saving it in here for when it fades into oblivion. ==================== There are so many good games on Intellivision for 1 or 2 players, because its gameplay is ALL SKILL. The system & its games still sells because of this & the legendary HIGH QUALITY Mattel (Big Jim, Barbie, Hot Wheels, etc.!) manufacturing standards! These games all work 100% properly! These games are all in the 30 year old "ballpark" & their age already intensifies their rarity above the commonly available games for the INTV. The age factor also makes GOOD condition more & more difficult to find. Rare/Very RARE games that are actually fun to play make them even less likely to become available & that can drastically alter the pricing for these game cartridges, instructions & overlays. Complete & in a nice box can make these prices REALLY jump! In 1983, the oversaturation of game cartridge manufacturers for ATARI game systems, INTV & COLECOVISION made it difficult for even the larger toy stores to make room to sell new games. Too many companies (Panda, CBS Games, Comma Vid, Xonox, Apollo, US Games, Spectravideo, etc.) made too many titles, too soon! This is what precipitated the downfall of GREAT game makers like IMAGIC, etc. Activision (maker of MEGA selling Pitfall & others), was an established major cartridge seller, so chain stores (Sears, Toys R Us, K-Mart etc.) banked that they could sell NEW Activision games over "lesser" (or unproven) game companies. This overall lack of sales due to lesser exposure is what contributed to lower production numbers of some REALLY good games. This explains how IMAGIC has so many rare titles that are all VERY GOOD games to play & that's why the prices for them are substantially higher than prices for the average games. One of my friends bought Truckin' (about late '83 or '84) and after he showed it to me, I tried to find it at one of the many local TOYS R US stores. I never saw that game for sale at any store and I eventually gave up looking for it. Nobody outside of the "business" (back in '84) really had any idea what was going on at the time (the great video game "crash" was on) with video game sales. I had acquired every other IMAGIC game for INTV, because everytime I bought a new one...it was good! If you look through their INTV catalog, it's one great game after another. They didn't have any "clunkers"! It was just a combination of market congestion & lack of store display space/exposure that ended up in low INTV sales that seemed to kill IMAGIC & later caused MATTEL to sell off its video game division to INTV Corp.! So, you should expect that RARE game cartridges increase in value if they have overlays, instructions, maps (if any were made) & shoot up dramatically if they include original boxes (especially if in MINT condition). In some cases, they will exceed well over $100 for a completely MINT condition copy in the box! Hopefully, this will help to educate some of you collectors about how these INTV games got to be RARE items!
