Any joystick or keyboard is fine! Pics are encoraged here, however I WILL accept a no pic score. Anyone can jump in and play a Knockout round game, if they like... (this includes players who have been Knocked out of the tournament!), just for fun and high score though, NOT to be counted in the contest. You need not win, just not finish LAST! Let the battle begin... Granted I've never played it before and I know I missed a few points but it didn't feel like I missed 50k. I might be able to get another 10-12k out unless I discover something else I missed. bigbee99 Posted January 25, 2012 Share Posted January 25, 2012 Yes I completed it. I'm using MESS .143 I like it. Looks like wolfMAME but you don't select the ROMs from the same window. Just select the system you are wanting to play then double click the ROM in the next window over. http://www.mess.org/ You will need the a7800 ROM for it to work. Thanks. 1- Download Mess from this link: http://www.mess.org/downloads 2-Extract it. 3-copy the a7800.zip file in the roms folder 4-Start MESS 5-Select the Atart 7800 NTSC from the system list. (see images below) 6-in the right pan click on Device view and click ... button and them Mount and browse for the ninja golf rom 7-Click on picker tab in the right side pan. 8-double click on ninja golf. Note: I'm sure there is a way to point to the rom folder to see all the available roms but I don't know how. I wonder where the other 50k is hidden. Either way, I think I am safe this week A few hints. I save my stars for the "ground hogs?" I don't know what they are but they throw rocks at you from the ground. I also use a few on the water parts when I get too many enemies and sharks on the screen to help minimalize damage. I turn around every few steps. I don't walk all the way back to the left or anything. I turn flash back behind me. I've noticed I do not miss as many power ups that way. On the dragons, dont worry so much about killing him but more on dodging his fireballs. The level is not timed so protecting yourself is of greater value. You will eventually kill him even if you are only throwing random stars. Know you kicks. There are only 3 different kicks. Forward + Kick kills most enemies. Up+Forward + Kick will take down the upper sharks. Down+Forward + Kick. You can kick the frogs, snakes, and even the ground hogs. Most levels can be beat in 2 swings. Not sure if this helps your overall points or not but 2 swings is 7k and 3 swings is 6k. I still have not found a way to kill the birds. Maybe that is my missing points.
