Can someone help me with a web site???

Hey i want to make a small free web site dedicated to my atari stuff, can someone help me, where to look how to start, I am web site illiterate, is there even such thing as a free web site????? Please help!!!!!!!

You have several companies that offer web page on their server. The size will vary for each provider. They are generally free unless you start to get a lot of bandwidth at which point they might either shut down the site or insist that you list your site as a commercial website and start paying monthly fees.

 

I happen to use Tripod.com for my personal web page and the scholastic chess club that I am a part of also uses Tripod.com. There are however larger sites that offer more space. I happen to have signed up for Tripod.com at the time and see no compelling reason to switch.

 

Have you already started with coding the web page? If not, you should begin to do so now and have someone look over it with you and make suggestions. Try to make the site as generic as possible with the links so that you can transfer it to another site at another time if you chose to move your site.

I haven't been to the site for awhile but it seems like http://www.webmonkey.com had some good tutorials and tips for starting out. Oh and you needn't bother checking out my site for any design tips. I put it together in about 5 minutes and haven't bothered to make it pretty yet, if ever.

Somehow I doubt that "Unlimited" is truly "Unlimited" - there's always a catch. If I tried to host RapReviews or OHHLA with them I'm sure I'd hit the "limit" rather quickly.
