I also used to maintain the OS/2 port of ColEm(click to see animated GIF). A couple weeks ago I saw the.golden.ax's system sale and decided to get one. After a USPS detour to Atlanta(!?!?), it finally arrived today! I also got the steering wheel, trackball and 7 additional cartridges from him. I stopped in the Houston Game Over last week for their Chip TuNesday event and picked up the 5 games they had that I wasn't already getting from TGA. Centipede Cosmic Avenger Donkey Kong Frogger Ken Uston Blackjack/Poker Ladybug Looping Q*Bert Slither Smurf Rescue Turbo Venture Victory I was surprised at how good the picture is using RF. though I'll probably want to mod it for better video out. Can I get S-Video and stereo like my 2600, or is composite and/or mono the most I can get out? You won't be disappointed in the least. Two AtariAge members that you should checkout are 5-11under and Yurkie. 5-11under sells a Component/Composite video board upgrade kit and has a great thread on DIY projects if you have the skillset. Yurkie provides a slew of TREMENDOUS mods and upgrades to the CV like a Composite Video with Audio upgrade, system refurbishing, controller mods, a pause button mod and last but not least... a BIOS mod that does away with the 11 second delay!!! I might get into writing CV homebrews, but I'd want something like the Harmony so I could test on my CV <google> this Ultimate SD Multicart looks promising, anybody familiar with them? I see they also have another cart that looks to be more along the lines of the Krok Cart, but it doesn't look like it supports my Mac. Hmm - does the Coleco support Paddles? Yes, put simply most Atarimax products are damn awesome! That SD version is the latest replacing the earlier 128 in 1 model that required a USB link and transfer software! The SD version is much simpler to use. We got him boys! But seriously, the AtariMax Ultimate SD Cart is indeed the "Ultimate" as far as ColecoVision multicarts. As you have viewed in OldSchoolRetroGamer's videos and read on AtariMax's website, the ease of use with an SD Card versus Windows software and a USB cable hookup makes all the difference in the world... plus you get two great homebrew games (Mr. Chin and Mario Bros.) for free thanks to CollectorVision/Retroillucid's generosity. Just purchased a NICE unit from Todd, ever since I ordered it I have been having dreams about playing it the past two nights haha and I raided my friends games store last night and bought all 5 games he had for sale for CV! So far I been hearing nothing but great things about the CV, I look forward to playing it upon its arrival. Anyone know where I could purchase homebrews/cheap games from? Besides Atari2600 and Ebay.
