TLD1985
I've been looking over the net and can't find any. Does anyone have/can make scans of the RCA Studio II games? I've found a scan of the main system manual... but not for the individual games. :s

Blackjack.zip FunNumbers.zip GF-MS_Battle.zip MathFun.zip SpaceWar.zip SpeedwayTag.zip TennisSquash.zip TennisSquash_R1.zip I still have Baseball, Baseball Rev1, Biorythms, and School House 1 to do in this format. I don't have any of the clone games, manuals or systems but am interested in getting them. No Bingo manual, of course. If only... I do have the Star Wars Game complete with manual for the foreign Sheen clone, I'll get it out and scan that manual for ya...

However, it may be easier just to sell it to me. If you want it feel free to make an offer. I won't say no to a good one You likely won't find another here in the US, no matter the condition. Anyways, I've attached scans below of all 4 pages of the manual. The only info of note is that unlike almost every other game from the time based off of Star Wars, this one actually flatout says (in the manual) "based off the movie Star Wars". And it has the name as well. And from what I've been able to find out, it was made while the original film was still in theaters, right around the same time as the Studio II's retail lifespan. Anyways, the manual scans:

Wow so there was a Star Wars game on a console pre-VCS (besides the Kenner table top)? Any pics of the Sheen clone and Star Wars cart? Blazing Lazers
Wow so there was a Star Wars game on a console pre-VCS (besides the Kenner table top)? Any pics of the Sheen clone and Star Wars cart? Yes, but it was only released overseas on some of the Studio II clones. There's 2 pics of it online, one from the original Ebay auction, and one I took and posted when I joined up here: http://forums.no-intro.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1947 http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/200840-rca-studio-ii-sheen-m1200-star-wars-game/ both are of the exact same copy, which I have stored away. It's the very first Star Warts videogame ever made, but not even a lot of Star Wars collectors know about it. It probably didn't come out until at least '78 or '79 though, when the VCS was already around. It did come out within the lifetime of the Studio II and the Sheen clone though, and while the original film was still in theaters. My personal guess in the absence of something concrete like a dated sales receipt is early to mid '78.

TLD1985
We need to find some Japanese collectors who can take scans of the Visicom clone games.
toymailman
And we need a multi-cart with all the US and overseas releases and the few homebrews that have been made. I even have some shells to donate to such a project (about a dozen).
TLD1985
Blazing Lasers, would you be able to plug the 'Star Wars Game' into your Studio II and take a small video of the game in action? Would be interesting to see.

Good luck getting all of the foreign or even all the US ROMs dumped, though. Or even finding copies to dump in the first place... I've been wondering about doing that myself- would it actually work in a US Studio II? ON another note, one of you mentioned that scans are still needed of the TV Schoolhouse I's booklets- do you have them? I've got a CIB copy with all the booklets right on my shelf- let me know if you'd like some scans of them

Would be very interesting to see on youtube. Now let me go into some from my research, which I have posted on wikipedia to some degree a while ago. Sadly due to the unpopularity and age of the system there is a lot of conflicting and erroneous information out there.. so I can't guarantee what I post is accurate... but to the best of my knowledge it is: The games, which can be grouped into 3 categories. All games in red have not been dumped. RCA Studio II (USA) TV Arcade I: Space War TV Arcade II: Fun with Numbers TV Arcade III: Tennis/Squash TV Arcade IV: Baseball TV Arcade Series: Speedway/Tag TV Arcade Series: Gunfighter/Moonship Battle TV School House I TV School House II: Math Fun TV Casino I: Blackjack TV Mystic Series: Biorhythm Academy Apollo 80 (UK) Hanimex MPT-02 Jeu TV programmable (France) Soundic MPT-02 Victory (Australia) Sheen 1200 Micro Computer (Australia) Conic M-1200 Colour (?) Mustang 9016 Telespiel Computer (Germany) Grand Pack (Blackjack and Bowling) Bingo Concentration Match Star Wars Math Fun (School House II) Pinball Biorythm Tennis/Squash Fun with Numbers Computer Quiz (School House I) Baseball Speedway/Tag Spacewar Intercept Gun Fight/Moon ship - I do not know if every clone had all 14 games, I have no proof. - The Majority of games released in Europe/Australia are identical to the US Games. - Grand Pack - is 'Bowling' and 'Blackjack', which is strange as 'Bowling' and 'Blacjack' were used as the inbuilt games for these clone systems. - Bingo WAS a title released here. - MPT-02 systems have a pink screen for colour and use the same molding. - 1200 and 9016 systems have a blue screen for colour and use the same molding. - I can not find a decent picture of the Apollo 80.. it does look slightly different from the "1200" systems but it might be the same mold again.. so would assume it has a blue screen as well. Toshiba Visicom COM-100 Japan Arithmetic drill (Math Fun & Fun with Numbers) Sports fan (Baseball & Sumo Wrestling) Gambler I (Blackjack) Gambler II (Slot Machine and Dice) Space Command (Space War) Inspiration (Bagua and Biorhythm) - Japan is the only country which had it's own unique set of games. It is a mixture of the original games and some new ones. - The Japanese games to not appear to be swappable with the European/American consoles, but I am basing this on emulation *Arithmetic drill - is 'Math Fun' and 'Fun with Numbers'. So two Studio II games in one. It also includes Japanese characters. *Sports fan - is 'Basball' and 'Sumo Wrestling' *Gambler I - is 'Blackjack'. *Gambler II - is 'Dice' and 'Slot Machine'. This is possibly 'Bingo' in Eur/Aus, but I have not seen the European Bingo so I can not tell. *Space Command - is 'Space War'. *Inspiration - is 'Biorythm' and 'Bagua'. Blazing Lazers
Fun with Numbers is the only US one that hasn't been dumped, of all possible ones? I would've guessed Gunfighter/Moonship. And Bingo too, of course. Out of more than just curiosity, just how would we go about dumping these carts, anyways? Who's got the equipment and whatnot needed to do it? Yes, sometime I'll hook up one of my Studio II systems and see what the Star Wars game plays like. I'll take video too when that time comes. Who else has a copy that you know of, for any Region? I'd wonder if there's any differences between them...
TLD1985
I'm pretty sure the clones just shared the same roms... they shared the same components and box art between each other. The colours are set by the console rather than the game RCA studio II cartridge dumping instructions here: http://www.robsons.o...tudio2/dump.htm I know the MESS team have copies of all the missing EU/AUS games but the team have not dumped them yet. I assume the same procedure can be used for the EU/AUS clones... I think the JAP games need a different method. This is the Mustang 9016 "Star Wars" cart: I have seen the Sheen M1200 come in two different boxes The other Sheen M1200 box: and the Conic M1200 box: The Sheen M1200 in action: Edited February 14, 2013 by TLD1985

I would love to own those. *Sigh*, someday... Maybe this is just me, but is there significance to the fact that the Conic box specifically says both PAL and NTSC colour? It would not be me to make the carts as that is beyond my skills but I would support such a project with donor carts, and of course purchase one. Also, I have the quiz books and will be finishing these up and add them to my post above. Yeah, actually making carts is beyond my abilities as well. Though if one were to be made, ideally it would have a USB or SD slot so that future ROM dumps could be added to it.
TLD1985
I don't think there is anything really significant about the box saying that... just clone systems after all. Edited February 15, 2013 by TLD1985
Atari2008
It's so interesting that Star Wars was released in such an obscure system. I'm looking forward to seeing the gameplay. A multi-cart would be cool! The homebrew Space Invaders is fun. I believe there is also Combat and another one. Someone expressed interest in porting Pac-Man to it, but I believe that project was abandoned. :-)
TLD1985
I still think it's an "unofficial" Star Wars game.. just trying to make quick money on the franchise.
Atari2008
That makes sense, still quite amazing! It's cool that the system was able to get this marquee title, looks like it might be fun too.

Yeah- but it was still the only one of many similar games to actually call itself 'Star Wars'- I've really got to get around to actually uploading some video of it....
