Hi, newcomer to the forum and Jaguar scene here!

Just thought id let you know a little about myself and why I am now ‘into’ the Jaguar.

Firstly, I am into retro games big. I have collected for a lot of systems in the past from the Saturn, Dreamcast, SNES, Megadrive and GBA. I have recently shortened this and now have a very good collection of Import SEGA Saturn stuff (mainly shmups) and a decent Dreamcast collection.

When I was a kid, my parents bought a new 14” TV from a store near us and there were two choices they were looking at and one came with a FREE Atari Jaguar! Obviously, I persuaded them to choose that one and they did.

It came with Cybermorph, Kasumi Ninja and Brutal Sports Football. I knew nothing of the console at the time and as much as I looked, I couldn’t find anywhere that sold anything for the Jaguar, so frustrated at the lack of games to play, and wanting money to buy games for my other system at the time (PS1), I sold it.

Anyway, present day and on the SEGA Saturn forum I frequent (www.segasaturn.co.uk), somebody had a Jaguar, with a multi-tap and additional controller all fully boxed in mint condition with Syndicate, Doom and Whitemen Cant Jumo for sale at £60. I jumped on it and it’s on its way to me now. I also followed this up by buying a mint copy of Bubsy from Amazon for £15.

I know about the games on the system and the ones im after (Iron Soldier and Raiden mostly), but im also very interested in the homebrew scene (for cartridge games if they exist - as I understand the CD add-on is hard to come by, expensive and very un-reliable) and hope there’s some good stuff on here regarding it.

Welcome! Funny story about the TV purchase and a free Jaguar. Either the "Free" Jag was built into the price or they must have wanted to get rid of their Atari inventory. lol

I think you made a good deal with that Jaguar you bought recently.

Good choice if you are into old school gaming like i am the jag has some great games to offer some unique titles.If you like shumps grab trevor mcfur and raiden there are also some good home brew shumps out there.Also getting into the more expensive side of gaming when it comes to the jaguar alot of the good games are very expensive like zero 5,towers2, missile command 3d, just to name a few but ..... since you are starting out with the jag pick up AVP and iron soldier.Iron soldier is cheap and a great game.Nice to see you join the forum have a great time with the jaguar^^
