+wood_jl #3 Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) I had longed for some ST monochrome, myself. However, there are problems. (1) No chance in hell of obtaining one locally. (2) Expensive shipping. (3) That 1-inch border always pissed me off. The monitor ain't that big, to begin with. So I got one (or 2) of the adapters to use VGA for monochrome. Here's a thread about it..... http://www.atariage....hrome%20adapter I don't see the one I bought in that thread still for sale on Ebay. However, there are 2 others. They aren't exactly cheap, either. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 150758389491 eBay Auction -- Item Number: 320526274539 In addition to the one that I have posted about in that other thread, I have one like the FIRST auction I have posted, above. I preferred it because it has a 3.5mm female audio jack, so a $10 pair of PC speakers (with cord permanently attached) plugs into it. The other appears to have a 3.5mm male, and it's more difficult (I think) to find el-cheapo speakers that will accept that connector without adapters, etc. As no VGA monitor has sound - and this occupies the monitor port where the sound is - you need the one "with sound." If you search the other items of those sellers, you'll see they have cheaper (NOT MUCH CHEAPER) versions without sound. I absolutely love them, for ST monochrome. It's finally the monochrome display I wished for, in the old days. The monitor was $5 (literally - it was $10 and 1/2-off day) at Goodwill. I need to spray paint it ST-grey and stick an Atari label on it. Edit: This will work with LCD panel (with VGA input) but it does NOT look good, as the oddball ST monochrome resolution does NOT scale perfectly. Perhaps if it was 640x480 instead of 640x400, it would look better. However, it looks PERFECT on that monitor, and you can resize/stretch any way you want.....which is FULL SCREEN!!!!!!
