SlowCoder #1 Posted February 25, 2012 I was out for random garage sales today. Stopped by one and didn't see anything of interest. I told him I was looking for old game systems, clocks and radios. He looked at me contemplatively, and told me he might have something, but it wasn't there. He says he has something stored in him camper, never opened. * Supposed to be one of the first hybrid computer/consoles with keyboard. * Might start with "Compu" * Might start with "A". * He did research and read that there were only a few 1000's of them made. They failed due to bad marketing. My first thought is Coleco ADAM, so I showed him a picture of one, and he says that's not it. What other things might it be? He says he'll pull it out tonight and give me a call.

SlowCoder #4 Posted February 25, 2012 Intellivision Keyboard Component? I'd about fall over if it was. Compumate? Apple computer? Tandy?? So far, I'd say the Compumate is the best runner. He'd said it was much simpler than the ADAM I'd shown him. If it's the Compumate, about $30 a good price?

If it's the Compumate, about $30 a good price? depending on the condition, $30 to $50 CIB. The one I purchased a year ago was NIB and I paid $50+shipping. SlowCoder #7 Posted February 25, 2012 I call dibs if it turns out to be the Intellivision keyboard ! Love you and all, but if that was what it was, I'd post it as my avatar and you'd suffer every time you saw my name. It is an Aquarius. It is CIB, but the box and everything inside is waterlogged. Luckily the electronic parts were still in their original plastic bags, so they suffered much less than the paperwork. Unfortunately, the included tape is also wet. Such a shame! All of the electronics appear to be pristine, but I'll open the keyboard and air it out to make sure whatever water got to it is dried out.
+thegoldenband #8 Posted February 25, 2012 Still a fun find, and fingers crossed that everything works fine once it's dried out. How much did it cost you?
SlowCoder #9 Posted February 26, 2012 Still a fun find, and fingers crossed that everything works fine once it's dried out. How much did it cost you? $0. They guy just gave it to me. He was happy it was going to a collector and not just some person who didn't know what it was. I don't have anything to play on it. I see that it plugs into a cassette player/recorder for data loading. Are there audio recordings of old programs that I could download from the web and play through my PC? Are there audio recordings of old programs that I could download from the web and play through my PC? Others can answer this question better than I can, but since I've done the same thing with other computers, I'd assume so. BTW you know about jaybird3rd's Aquarius multicart, right?
