BTW I highly encourage everyone to consider posting their Commando times, and any other Intellivision play, in the What have you actually PLAYED for 2012 tracker. It's always livelier with more people involved, and of course it also helps to "represent" the Inty!

If you don't feel like checking the clock, then estimates are always OK. (Just don't give a range of times, e.g. "between 25 and 35 minutes" -- it's better to say "about 30 minutes".) YMMV, but personally I find that timing my gameplay has actually been really informative, and helped make it feel more meaningful.

I can't see myself doing too well this round!

I think this would be a pretty difficult game at the best of times, but I'm struggling playing it on an emulator using arrow keys.

Score = 30,500

Yeah, I think emulator users are at a big disadvantage for this one unless they find some way of getting 16-direction control. The game definitely takes advantage of that, IIRC.

Any tips for final part of Mission 1?

Don't get shot? :D

Haha - I think that's where I've been going wrong! :)

Jacob, I never had trouble with mission one, I really don't even have trouble with 2, except for the final confrontation, as the enemies come from the sides instead of the top.... I get by it sooner or later and on to #3 :)

56,000

The ending of mission 2... is MUCH tougher then 7800 - C-64 ports!

Still haven't gotten close at all to the final level/mission.

Any tips besides that please? I really want this!!! :)

When the doors swing open at the end of mission one, shoot at an angle into the corner of the door hinge,

if you are angled correctly, you will blast the enemy soldiers before they have a chance to shoot....

One enemy troop WILL pop out of the wall, and will try to shoot or grenade you... just make a move downward,

to avoid his fire then get back shooting diagonally at the door, then you're done!

Of course you have to have the timing and angle just right or they will come at you, making you have to re-do it.
