KevinMos3 #1 Posted March 9, 2012 I've been enjoying Ikari Warriors on the 2600 lately, and wondered how it would look with dirt instead of grass. I went ahead and made a couple minor changes: Green grass changed to brown dirt with brown and green highlights (consider them stones and grass) Edited tank sprite Helicopter color darkened one shade Game Over screen changed to black I decided to post this here first because I'm not sure if it's worth uploading to my hacks thread and wanted to get opinions on it (the hacks forum hardly ever has traffic). Besides, I'm having problems editing my post in the hacks thread anyway. IkariWarriors_test.bin

KevinMos3 #6 Posted March 11, 2012 Thanks for the feedback. I found that these colors look good in stella, but not on real hardware. I played around with it quite a bit and ended up using much different colors to get it to look okay on the real thing, but I'm not real happy with it. I like the edited tank sprite, but I've come to the conclusion that the original green ground color seems to work best overall when playing on a real hardware with a CRT TV. Here's an edit I found acceptable on real hardware. Your mileage may vary depending on the brightness and color settings of your TV. Be aware that in stella, these colors do not look good. I haven't tried it in Z26, but Z26's color palette isn't very accurate anyway. IkariWarriors_test3.bin
