BillyHW #1 Posted March 11, 2012 The AVGN says it's LJN on the NES. But I say it was THQ on the SNES. Does anyone else remember the awfulness of Pit-Fighter on the SNES? What are your picks for worst developer/publisher in a given era?

ventrra #3 Posted March 11, 2012 In Japan, Pack-in Video made the worst on pretty much every system they made games for.

The Usotsuki #6 Posted March 11, 2012 LJN, better known as Acclaim, was hit or miss. Most of their LJN stuff was garbage but their Midway arcade ports were generally excellent.
retrogamer73 #7 Posted March 11, 2012 I'm going to go with LJN, and I do remember Pit Fighter on SNES it sucked.
atari181 #8 Posted March 11, 2012 Mythicon! Absolute worst Games I have ever played !
2600Lives #9 Posted March 11, 2012 I'll toss in with LJN as well, along with Acclaim. Ever play Total Recall on the NES? 'Nuff said.

7800Lover #11 Posted March 11, 2012 I second Color Dreams! What was up with Master Chu and the Drunkard Hu?
Tr3vor #12 Posted March 12, 2012 (edited) Color Dreams for sure. have you seen RoboDemons? one word: "uugh" LJN has nothing on Color Dreams. Edited March 12, 2012 by Tr3vor
Emehr #13 Posted March 12, 2012 I vote for Ocean. I don't think I own or ever wanted to own anything they did, which was usually crapped-out movie license games. Rare, just look at Taboo Gonna have to disagree with you on that one. I don't know what they were thinking with Taboo but Rare made great games and didn't seem afraid to try different things. Wizards and Warriors, RC Pro-Am Racing, Cobra Triangle, Battletoads...good stuff. Captain Skyhawk was a little clunky but it had its merits.

Add A Nightmare on Elm Street, Snake Rattle & Roll, Ironsword, the port of Marble Madness, Battletoads & Double Dragon, and the list goes on, and on, and on.. They were an amazing developer house in their day!
Tr3vor #15 Posted March 12, 2012 Agreed! Add A Nightmare on Elm Street.... Wasn't that LJN?
Austin #16 Posted March 12, 2012 Wasn't that LJN? LJN published it, but Rare developed it. Something else to keep in mind.
BassGuitari #17 Posted March 12, 2012 Whatever crap Rare might have done, Goldeneye and Perfect Dark more than make up for them.
S1500 #18 Posted March 12, 2012 Akklaim pumped out games without originality. Case in point their Terminator 2 game, which I tried on the PC. It was terrible. It was simply out to make money.
BillyHW #19 Posted March 12, 2012 I heard that THQ made some respectable games in later generations too, but I have trouble believing it...
Austin #20 Posted March 12, 2012 THQ is a pretty recognizable name today. Back in the SNES days though, not so much. Not in a good way, at least.

7800Lover #23 Posted March 12, 2012 At least the SNES version of Pit-Fighter was playable. Has anyone ever played the Game Boy port? A tiny black and white screen is NOT the place to show off digitized graphics!
Rex Dart #24 Posted March 12, 2012 I just had the extreme pleasure of playing Pit Fighter on the SNES today...total crap. So, a solid port?
