Yurkie #1 Posted March 13, 2012 Just curious if any of you homebrew programmers think it is possible and/or are willing to port Colem (ColecoVision Emulator) http://fms.komkon.org/ColEm/ for use on the Everdrive 64 multi-cart. For anyone that isn't familiar the Everdrive 64 is a Multi-Cart that uses an SD card and allows all N64 to be loaded on it and played and also allows loading an NES emulator and playing NES roms. I figure that if an NES emulator will run on the N64 that a ColecoVision one could as well. I would mod a CV controller to work on the N64 if there was such an emulator and will also beta test if anyone wants to give it a shot. Thanks for reading.
harlock76 #2 Posted March 13, 2012 i also own an everdrive card would be great to have many emulators ported to n64
Yurkie #3 Posted March 13, 2012 I think the early systems could. Sure hope to get some comments from programmers.
harlock76 #4 Posted March 13, 2012 the only emulators i know for n64 are neon64 (nes) ultra sms (gamegear) altra msx (msx) so coleco might not be hard to port
RelliK111 #5 Posted March 13, 2012 That would be super cool!!

I will mod ColecoVision controllers to work on the N64 if someone will port the emulator.
NIAD #7 Posted March 13, 2012 Hope someone can tackle this little project for you guys, but in the meantime, you should consider picking up a used Sony PSP1000, at least a 256Mb Memory Stick, download the FREE HomeBrew Loader and PSP-ColecoEm or ColEm. With this setup you can play all your favorite ColecoVision games (except the MegaCart games and LotD) anywhere you want... you got yourself a Portable ColecoVision! fernando marrin #8 Posted March 14, 2012 Prefer my dingoo a380 , runs all colecovision games
NIAD #9 Posted March 14, 2012 Prefer my dingoo a380 , runs all colecovision games Looks like a nice portable system but unfortunately it does not come preconfigured with a ColecoVision emulator as far as I see from a quick search. I am just curious since I already have a PSP all configured for my needs (and then some)... can additional systems be added to it.

Yurkie #11 Posted March 15, 2012 Will someone please comment specifically on a ColecoVision Emulator for the N64. I know there are a lot of different emulators and hardware to run them on.
youki #12 Posted March 15, 2012 Is there free development kit for N64 ? I tried colem on my Nintendo DS hoping being able to play my titles ... but unfortunaly GnZ and Smurf Challenge does not work on colem. (at least the version i tried).

I tried colem on my Nintendo DS hoping being able to play my titles ... but unfortunaly GnZ and Smurf Challenge does not work on colem. (at least the version i tried). Perhaps I should have asked if BlueMSX could be ported to the ColecoVision on the N64. Not knowing anything about programming I figured that Colem would be a simpler choice. I believe there are a # of free development tool you could get via Google search Youki. With all your emulator experience, you seem like just the guy that could make this happen. You can count on me for beta-testing if you choose to give it a shot. Another advantage of a ColecoVision emulator on the N64, is that I think it would inspire more emulators of the early systems. Pretty cool when you consider that the N64 is the last cartridge based system sold and it is already over 15 years old. One other emulator I was hoping would happen was a 7800. I ran the idea of porting a 7800 emulator by PacManPlus, however he is too busy cranking out awesome homebrews for the system.
RelliK111 #14 Posted March 16, 2012 When I got my everdrive 64 that was the first thing I did was try to put a colecovision emulator on it but it didn't work. I talked to stoneage gamer and he said that a emulator would need to be made for the n64 everdrive to work, and so far he said the only one is the nes em that has been made, but more could be coming out. I really have no idea of what it would take to make a emulator for the n64 but it would be cool and I would be one the first to get one of your controllers for it Yurkie
RelliK111 #15 Posted March 16, 2012 Also the Mega EverDrive is suppose to be able to do the samething and let you play other systems on the sega genesis. I'm not sure of its limitations and I'm not sure if I'm going to get one since I already have a everdrive md. http://stoneagegamer.com/mega_everdrive_deluxe.aspx

(at least the version i tried). https://sites.google.com/site/n64devkitsdkintrofunctions/ Looks like the psy-q dev kit used for the system. Additional emus on N64 : GB emulator and also a MAME port that played 70+ games.
