Replacing ICDFast HD

Recommended Posts

Folks,

I bought a 40meg ICDFaST HD for my ST many moons ago - The HD is starting to act up and I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of drive I could buy to replace it - Were these SCSI drives mapped to the ST's DMA port or IDE or what????

Yes, there is SCSI harddrive with SCSI hostadapter . But not every SCSI disks works smoothly with it. So best is first try if disk works and then pay if it is possible.

Anything in particular I should look for when looking for a replacement? I prob will have to go through ebay to get an older one.

Any size restrictions on these things - been awhile since I configured a HD on an ST.

The ST used an interface called ACSI, similar to SCSI.

Can´t remember any restrictions at size, but as far as I remember, the biggest HD for the ST was about 80-100 MB.

It depend on TOS version. I had 560 MB SCSI disk on STfm with TOS 2.6
