Good Co-op games for either SNES, Genesis, NES

So later today I'm going to be babysitting, my brother is coming along to keep me company and we are planning on bringing a console to pass the time once she is down for the night. I was thinking of heading to my local retro store and picking up a new multiplayer game for us. So any recommendations? Some of the co-op games we have are Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country 1-3, Super Bomberman, He doesn't have any co-op games for his Genesis and I'm not even sure what there is available and sad as it is we have almost nothing for the NES.

Stinger is a great NES co-op shooter with a quirky gameplay dynamic. My girlfriend and I played it for a while tonight -- she's not generally a fan of shooters, but she liked it a lot.
