Can a DB15 Male to DB15 Female cable be used for "Extension Cable" for the 5200 game controller?

Probably if it looks like the gameport connector on a pc. Or goto ebay. Type in "game port extension cable" there is one for 1.99 right now no bids yet.

Try to avoid getting DB15 extension cables with hoods that are made of metal, like these ones:

The 5200 joystick connectors have interlocking plastic tabs that will not fit inside this cable. Here is the type you want:

(This particular item is outrageously expensive, so I'm including it only for reference.) I've got a bunch of those exact cables, and they work perfectly with the 5200 and with the XEGS keyboard as well.

Yes 42 is too much. But there is one for 1.99. Also the metal ones work just fine. It doesn't fit. But with a needle nose pliar it bends easily. I ididi the same with a gender changer. Fits great. Or cut the tabs off the controller cord and it will fit.

Neo-Geo extension cables work well also. They are molded, without the metal bits, just like the 5200 stuff. However, they seem to be overpriced for the most part.
