Garage Sale Catch Today - NES/SNES

Recommended Posts

I was pretty busy this morning, running around. My older son was on an overnight scout trip, so I took my younger son on a father/son breakfast at Waffle House. Having a good morning, and had a few minutes before I needed to be at my next destination, so I decided to swing into a nearby neighborhood with a garage sale sign. I pulled into the driveway and looked around. The standard fare, clothes, toys, old computer stuff. I gave the wife of the house my normal inquiry ... any old game systems or clock radios?

Before I knew it, the husband had plopped 2 boxes of stuff down. One box was a NES console and a SNES console, the other box contained another NES, the grey NES light zapper gun, and a bunch of games. The SNES has a power supply, but no controllers, and there is only one NES power supply, but 3 NES controllers. So there's not a complete set of console parts, but I have extras of some of the stuff to fill in. None of the consoles are discolored, which is important to me. He also said the NES with all the games was his as a kid, which is corroborated by his last name permanent-markered all over the games.

Here are the NES games:

Roger Clemens MVP Baseball

TMNT

Airwolf

Fester's Quest

Rescue Rangers

720 Degrees

Rad Racer

Major League Baseball

Super Mario Bros 1,2,3

Double Dribble

Legend of Zelda (Gold)

Knight Rider

RollerGames

Kung Fu

Xenophobe

Road Runner (Tangen)

Jeopardy (25 anniv)

Top Gun

SNES games:

Super Mario World

Mortal Kombat 1,2

I was truthful with him, as usual, and explained that I collect the stuff to restore and play. He appreciated that and allowed me to have the lot for $63 (the amount I had in my wallet). He originally wanted $100 Did I do good here?

Also, he says he thinks his father might still have their Vectrex, and he's going to look into getting that for me. We haven't talked pricing on that, but I'm excited at the possible opportunity to get one. :D

If you are keeping everything, then I'd say you did ok. If you bought it to flip it, I'd say there's not much meat on the bone at that price.
