Arkhan #26 Posted May 9, 2012 Bother the guy in charge at SFT directly (Brandon Cobb). If he's not too busy creating incorrect facts about SFT, he might get back to you and tell you when Zaku is coming again.
the.golden.ax #27 Posted May 9, 2012 When you first wrote that, my brain thought you said to get in charge of the STFU guy.
twoquickcapri #28 Posted May 9, 2012 Just Pre-ordered it. Wonder how long this one will take until its in my hands. I'm about to hit 2 years in my wait for Zaku.
Crazy Climber #29 Posted May 9, 2012 Just Pre-ordered it. Wonder how long this one will take until its in my hands. I'm about to hit 2 years in my wait for Zaku. HOLY SHIT!! 2 YEARS!! You might want to contact him, thats pretty long man...
Arkhan #30 Posted May 9, 2012 "Note: At the moment, Zaku is out of stock but is still available for backorder. As soon as the new stock has arrived from our factory, your order will be mailed to you. " LOL. thats one hell of a backorder.
Crazy Climber #31 Posted May 9, 2012 They have always got me my stuff pretty quick (within a month) but I generally ordered it immediately. The second (or third?) run of Beggar Prince that had the "bug fix" took me quite awhile to get, I believe around 4 months or so, but 2 years is just rediculous man. I would let him know, I think your order was forgotten...
sqoon #32 Posted May 9, 2012 If Sega just up and started making 5,000 copies of Genesis games (new titles) I'd bet they would sell briskly in stores like Walmart even. It would be a dream come true if they would just support the homebrew scene like XBLA and let people make games, submit them, and then publish them up. I've contended for years that they could take pre-orders and publish games only once the threshold was met to make it worth while to go to press. When you look at titles like Panzer Saga where they still went ahead for a few thousand copies, it can't possibly be not worth it to them. I'll never understand why companies don't support what the fans like/want, and just try to constantly reinvent the wheel. Its driven by the retailers and advertisers. The thing in tech is you always want to look "cutting edge" and "latest", and selling games for old game systems is "uncool" to many consumers. If old games could be passed of as somehow "hip" then retailers would possibly look at selling them again.
Arkhan #33 Posted May 9, 2012 its not that his order was forgotten. its that he doesnt have new Zaku boards in. I remember that Beggar Prince bug. I'm glad my copy is a busted copy where you can have your game rendered uncompleteable. iirc, no deal was done to people who already got the game. To get the bugfix you had to pay up. I never did. I would let him know, I think your order was forgotten... I order it right after they ran out of stock. Zaku keep getting pushed back for other releases they have. At the time I didn't know they were out of copies and they were letting people still make orders. For me Legend of Wukong took about a month to get and Star Odyssey (I order in the third week) took about 5 months. I have no problem waiting but its sad that they would take orders from people with no plan to fill that order.

I paid, at the time it was still listed as "for sale" and not "backorder". It changed alittle later.

I got Begger Prince on the 1st run of carts and never heard about a bug till way later and was through a 3rd party I did email Brandon Cobb and replied back that I could get a replacement but not free. I figured to hell with it with support like that no better than todays companies putting out buggy games and then charging for DLC to fix it
Crazy Climber #40 Posted May 10, 2012 I decided to hell with ordering Nightmare Busters. I didn't get a heads up about either pre-order from them, I have to shell out $80+ immediately and still wait a year. Not to mention this entire "you better get one now or you might never get one" thing just bugs me. I am into classic games and I show support for others making new classic games by purchasing them. The 16-bit era in my opinion was the peak of gaming, so naturally I would heavily support a company releasing games for those systems. I am starting to get the feeling SFT doesn't get that and are just trying to create "false rarity" so the new games sell out immediately. Sure it's great for sales and great for re-sellers but not the reason I do this. I like to collect and support new games for old systems, If I just wanted to play NB the rom is available,... Basically I am by no means boycotting Super Fighter Team, I love the games they have released and have purchased everyone except Zaku (which I was planning on once I get a lynx) but I'm not doing the pre-order or waiting list for years BS. If they have a game available on the website for purchase and ready to ship I will buy it, otherwise I have plenty of other stuff I can waste my cash on
Arkhan #41 Posted May 10, 2012 You do realize that SFT doesn't make these games, right? They're just an arrogant publisher of games from people with actual talent, right? I don't boycott them simply because I want to support the talented people who actually made the game. It just sucks you have to get it with that stupid SFT logo on it. Also, for the record, their sega genesis clamshells are friggin trash. My Wukong one shattered like a 90 year olds hip.
