What is the first RPG you beat? Ever?

Just curious to read through some lists here.

 

I think mine was Ultima 3 (C64)

 

and then possibly either Dragon Warrior 1 or FF7.

 

Does Zelda count?

Does GTA San Andreas count?

 

I've tried them in 8-bit and 16-bit forms and they bore me to no end.

I shied away from RPG's in the Apple 2 days (Wizardy, Ultima, etc.) because I just didn't get them as a child. The first RPG I ever beat was in the console days and it was the original Phantasy Star on the SMS.

I wouldn't count Zelda, so for me, I'm going to have to say. . . Pokemon Blue?

I enjoy, collect, and play RPGs of all shapes and sizes, but I have a habit of not beating them. Example: in Final Fantasy VII, I've done nearly all the game, I've leveled up my doods, I've done most of the sidequests and everything, but I haven't gone after the WEAPONs yet, or fought Sephiroth. I tend to max these games out then simply not beat them.

Either Dragon Warrior or the First Final Fantasy. Id say maybe adventure on atari but I cant remember if I actually ever finished it.

Dragon Warrior, 1987, brand new game, beat at the tender age of 11.

 

Mind you, that wasn't the first RPG I PLAYED....just the first one I actually finished.

Dragon Warrior 1, which I believe is the first RPG I ever played too. Recently went back and max leveled, the DragonLord went pretty easily:)

Sort of. It DOES allow for more role-play than games that simply hand you a role, like Final Fantasy 7.

Dragon Warrior on the NES, followed by Final Fantasy on the NES. Zelda and Zelda II came prior, but I don't consider those RPGs. More-so action-adventure games, if you have to give them a label (Zelda II obviously veering far from the "adventure" part).

Is Diablo an RPG? Tempest has a Gemstone Warrior avatar...Diablo-like gameplay if I remember.

 

Thats another debatable one since its just a Rogue like dungeon crawl. I personally think it is because you have stats, hit-points and you level up in the traditional D&D method.

Pokemon Silver, in fact until I started emulating games and beat Eathbound (not sure if completed zero or 1 first), all the RPGs I beat were Pokemon games.
