trevDesigns #1 Posted April 20, 2012 (edited) I have a complete gatefold boxed Street Racer with an odd text label. The end label says "12 street racer" with a silver border like it should but the front of the label looks like a standard text label (smaller fonts, use with Standard Paddle Controllers, etc.) Its very similar to the Surround variation listed here: http://www.atariage....wareLabelID=943 I've searched all around but cant find any additional information on this variation. Anyone have any ideas? Rarity? Edited April 20, 2012 by trevDesigns
orangest #2 Posted April 20, 2012 Do you mean this one? http://www.atariage....wareLabelID=515 Rarity 3 out of 10 on the Atari Age scale.

AtariTexas #4 Posted April 20, 2012 (edited) Street Racer 12 Version 2 (Has silver end label border) Cart goes for about 3 dollars Complete about 10 Its a variant but not rare Edited April 20, 2012 by BadHornet
trevDesigns #5 Posted April 20, 2012 Correct me if I am wrong... Didnt Street Racer 12 Version 1 have an Orange End Border, Street Racer 12 Version 2 changed the End Border to Silver, And what I have is actually Street Racer 12 Version 3? Because the front Label is different? It is totally different than the Front Label in Version 1 and 2.
Rom Hunter #6 Posted April 22, 2012 (edited) Yes, your end label is gatefold type and your front label is the first scan on this page: http://www.atarimani...acer_18363.html Interesting mix-up. Edited April 22, 2012 by Rom Hunter
phattyboombatty #7 Posted April 23, 2012 I have the exact same combination on my "41 surround" cart. The end label is gatefold, but the top (large) label is post-gatefold text.
trevDesigns #8 Posted April 28, 2012 Yes, your end label is gatefold type and your front label is the first scan on this page: http://www.atarimani...acer_18363.html Interesting mix-up. Correct. I have searched a bunch of sites and eBay and cant find the similar label combo as mine. I did find different combos for Combat and Surround posted but nothing for Street Racer. One person said they didnt like posting label combos like this because they could be "homemade" by pull it off of one cart and onto another. But the cart I have is in mint condition and showed no signs of tampering. I guess my mind could be at peace if I saw another photo "in the wild" or at least some mention of it on one of the huge "label variation" sites, but unitl then... Maybe its as rare as Air Raid and I can ebay it for $50,000. I only wish. My theory is in porduction they ran out of one style when they were switching over the the new Text label sytle and just slapped on the new one. trevDesigns #9 Posted April 28, 2012 I have the exact same combination on my "41 surround" cart. The end label is gatefold, but the top (large) label is post-gatefold text. Yes that is the same one shown at Atari Age. I find these combos kind of interesting.
