+save2600 #51 Posted April 26, 2012 I'd have brought a Harmony cart chock full of games to show off - including today's modern home-brews!

CorTat-G #53 Posted April 26, 2012 (edited) I said Combat because it was the first game. And when most of us think of Atari, we think of Combat. Edited April 26, 2012 by Cortat G
SRGilbert #54 Posted April 26, 2012 Two sets of well tuned paddles and Video Olympics, that or Indy 500.
tremoloman2006 #55 Posted April 28, 2012 Whichever you choose to bring, please have someone take pictures while you do your presentation. I know I would (as I'm sure others here) love to see the 2600 being presented to today's youth.
tremoloman2006 #56 Posted April 28, 2012 Oh... as for games... Combat, Warlords, and Video Olympics are great multi-player choices. In addition, I'd bring Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man to demonstrate how Atari blew it by releasing Pac-Man which aided in the crash of '83, then load Ms.Pac-Man to show what Pac-Man could have been. Skylark68 #57 Posted April 30, 2012 I picked Asteroids just because of the cool background music and the title screen.
Deteacher #58 Posted April 30, 2012 I'd bring the original cart. Combat. I teach a pop culture course in my elementary school. We cover pop culture from the 50's-80's. When we get to the 70's, we spend a fair amount of time on video games. I bring in my Atari and compare their games with the 70's Atari counterpart (Madden vs. Atari Football, NASCAR vs. Indy 500, etc.) Then I fire up Combat and let them play head to head. They LOVE it! I'd bring Combat.
Lauren Tyler #59 Posted April 30, 2012 (edited) I strongly suggest Space Invaders, since not only was it the first 'killer-app' video game that made the Atari 2600 a big seller, but it also has the distinction of being released in all four label variations. riffraff #60 Posted April 30, 2012 I'd bring Space Invaders. That was a very early title in the atari 2600's lineup and still plays well today. Christmas where I got the 2600 + Space Invaders = the best Christmas ever.
oldgamesrule #61 Posted May 1, 2012 I would take frogger heck it was a fun game was still is. lol But combat is what came with mine when it was brand new. I also had circus game but no longer got that one got to pick up a replacement. I would think a paddle game would be the way to go. My paddles are still like brand new. It was not released in the *serial number*text label variation, though (like the first 9 games) Edited May 1, 2012 by PitfallHarry2600

tjlock77 #69 Posted May 11, 2012 Awesome deal to showcase the Atari 2600. I would definately say Space Invaders beings it is so well known and did trigger a huge portion of console sales when it was released. E.T. is a definate title to show that when you race just to get something done, then it will show. Read something that 12 million copies were made and 5 million went to the landfill. Yar's Revenge is a good title to showcase that the guy who did make E.T. wasn't a crackshot at creating games. For multiplayer games, I would agree with Warlords, but a nice 2 player game... Fishing Derby (always had a good time with that with friends) As far as a fun title, Seaquest, Frostbite, Taz, or Fast Food. Appearance would already be claimed by Yar's Revenge.
