The same thing if you play a paddle game with a joystick.

It won't work. The paddles are analog, the driving controller is digital (2-bit gray coded signal). There's not much else to say really.

If you try to use the driving controller, it won't work. If, on the other, you plug in an Intellivision II controller and try that... it still won't work, but hey, at least you tried something kinda cool.

Why wont the dual control gemini controllers work? When i realized i had two of them i thought awesome to find out.. no forget it...

Somebody should make more driving controllers and games for em. as very few out there...i have a set of em but rarely use em..

Paddle and driving controllers look the same on the outside, but are entirely different technology, and incompatible with each other.

Why wont the dual control gemini controllers work?

When used without the Gemini's wye cable, it's paddle corresponds to player 2 (left & right on the stick corresponds to the paddle triggers).  The wye cable alters the wiring on one end of the wye to make that one and it's trigger correspond to player 1, and partially on the other end to make player 2's trigger work.  IIRC, the stick is not wired through the wye.

 

You could create a game suited to the Gemini controller if you wanted to, tho.  The stick (SWCHA), stick trigger (INPT4), and player 2's paddle (INPT1) can be utilized simultaneously with no conflicts when the wye is not connected.
