RickR
I realize I'm late to the party, but I just got one, and it is spectacular. Hooked it up to an old useless (until now) Dell laptop (P2-300!), and am having a blast playing old games without worrying about breaking the 1050 or floppies. Borrowed the SIO cable from my SX212 modem, which I'll probably never use again.
RickR
Question: Is there a C64 equivalent that lets you play images from SD cards or another computer and has the same bang/buck ratio as SIO2PC?
31336haxx0r
I think there was one or at least it was planned. It's name was IEC2SD or SD2IEC or something like that.
KubaCZ
Question: Is there a C64 equivalent that lets you play images from SD cards or another computer and has the same bang/buck ratio as SIO2PC? This is reason why I don't play on C64/VIC20 too much - it's hard to get something there. I'm using 1541-II connected to P1 MMX machine with XE1541 cable and star commander. It's not really fast but it works - but you need 2 floppy drives and still it's not something like SIO2PC, but it's cheap

This is an issue with the IEC bus not the uIEC/SD... you can also use something like the 64NIC+ which would be similar to a sio2pc, but connects via ethernet instead of serial... sloopy.
