+davidcalgary29 #1 Posted January 24, 2003 Any thoughts on rating the rarity of joysticks/ game controllers? I've run across some pretty bizarre joysticks over the past few months, and thought it might be interesting to find out just how many of the things were actually made! +davidcalgary29 #3 Posted February 22, 2003 Nice collection! Many of my joysticks seem to be strange Canadian models released only for the local market (e.g. through Canadian Tire or Zellers); I didn't spot any familiar faces on your page.
goatdan #4 Posted February 22, 2003 Joystick rarity would be an odd thing to track though. The normal collector doesn't really care how rare it is, they won't pay more than a certain amount for it. With few exceptions, this is how it is for each system. I think the Power Glove and ROB are two of the only released "controllers" that are worth "tons" now, and even that isn't that much. PaulMcCraneFan #5 Posted February 22, 2003 Check out my site for the feature on Rare and Oddball joysticks: http://retrogames-r-us.tripod.com/ Would you like a pic of the LeStik controllers? The ones that look like a motorcycle grip with a fire button on top. From what I understand, those are pretty hard to come by. I have 2 of them. Didn't know those Wico joysticks with the ball on top (DCP01945) were rare. Picked up one of those at a Goodwill store for $2.00 last summer.
CPUWIZ #6 Posted February 23, 2003 This subject reminds me of something, how rare is the Space Age Joystick made by Atari ? I haven't been able to find one for a decent price.
badbrad #7 Posted February 23, 2003 I saw one go on EPay boxed for under 20 bucks recently. I've seen a few loose ones. Of course, this doesn't help you at all, R
CPUWIZ #8 Posted February 23, 2003 Actually it does, cheers man.

Cool collection. Now I want to go dig out my closet for that box of Atari joysticks and see if I have anything that's not on your site. I enjoyed your magazine collection as well.... SS #10 Posted February 23, 2003 I saw one go on EPay boxed for under 20 bucks recently.I've seen a few loose ones. Of course, this doesn't help you at all, R I paid ~$7.00 for my loose Space Age joystick. Nice price, IMHO, but it was from the crazy old flea-market man with the random prices so I don't know if that will tell you anything relevant or not.
