+atari2600land #1 Posted May 21, 2012 And by that I mean an emulator that emulates the Playstation itself, not an emulator that runs on a Playstation. And by Playstation, I mean PS1.

Rex Dart #5 Posted May 22, 2012 Yeah, it was sort of okay... when it was the only option. Then VGS came along & didn't look as nice, but ran better on the lousy PCs of the time.
toptenmaterial #6 Posted June 2, 2012 A friend of mine actually plays original PS1 discs right on the CD drive of his computer! So yes, we live in a great time for emulation. The OP may wish to consider getting himself a PSP, which has built-in PS1 support.

mbd30 #9 Posted June 14, 2012 Not too long ago I beat the first "Crash Bandicoot" on epsxe with a Logitech gamepad. The emulation isn't perfect. Eg. emulators seem to have issues with switching discs in multi-disc games for some reason, but there are workarounds. http://forums.emulator-zone.com/showthread.php?t=18512
onlysublime #10 Posted June 17, 2012 back in the day, VGS was the best. it doesn't make games look better like ePSXe, but its emulation is rock solid. but ePSXe can make PS1 games look pretty darn good and the emulation is good enough for most people. I haven't played PS1 games in forever so my experience is probably out of date. I'd probably just stick to VGS and ePSX3 for my needs unless someone tells me a better, more modern option. But even then, I doubt I'll go back to PS1 games (except for stuff like Bishi Bashi). I'm still trying to catch up on my 360 games!
