Glossyluv #1 Posted May 25, 2012 Hey everyone! Wow I did not even know that there was a CV section on AA. Love it! Well I just wanted to say hi from Ontario. I actually JUST got a CV lot in the mail today. Hubby hooked it up and it works (yay!). If you guys want I can post pics tomorrow of the lot I purchased to see if I paid a fair price.
Skaarg #2 Posted May 25, 2012 Congrats on getting a ColecoVision! I got into ColecoVision collecting because it was what I played the most at the sitters when I was a kid. What all did you get?
jblenkle #3 Posted May 25, 2012 Welcome!!! And be sure to join in the fun in the High Score Club. Members compete against other members for CV bragging rights. Right now we are playing Frogger II. sqoon #4 Posted May 25, 2012 Are you an old school CV gamer from way back, or is this your first foray into the goodness thereof?
Glossyluv #5 Posted May 25, 2012 Unfortunately I never had the joy of owning one as a kid. I actually had a Atari 2600. I started looking at YouTube vids and thought wow I am loving the graphics! So I decided to start collecting CV! I will post pics later today.
+boxpressed #6 Posted May 25, 2012 Welcome to the club! If you're new to the platform, you may want to read an article that I posted on my blog about the CV. Link is here.
sqoon #7 Posted May 25, 2012 Yes, welcome. Like you, I had VCS when I was young and migrated to NES from there. Got my first Colecovision about 3 years ago and have been pleasantly surprised.

RJ #10 Posted May 26, 2012 GREAT score!!!! The best games there are Pepper II, Mr Do & Space Panic. I also played the h-ll out of Crystal Castles. IIRC that Miner 2049er is rare.
RelliK111 #11 Posted May 26, 2012 Here it is! I got everything for 60$ CAD. What do you think? You have lots of fun games there You should definitely check out all the homebrews for the system. You will have a ton of fun
cOLeCoHiTMan #12 Posted May 26, 2012 How's it working? We have a member here that does great work on repairs and modding... Yurkie!
NIAD #13 Posted May 26, 2012 Here it is! I got everything for 60$ CAD. What do you think? Welcome to the CV Scene. As far as this purchase, you did VERY WELL for yourself as I added everything up and if each item was purchased/sold individually, it would cost about $225. Something similar to this package would sell for upwards of $150 on eBay depending on the number of bidders that would be interested.
Glossyluv #14 Posted May 27, 2012 Thanks guys! I am really enjoying it all and having a blast! Right now I cannot get enough of Space Panic haha!
InfraMan #15 Posted May 27, 2012 Congratulations, that's an awesome score! I just picked up a CV myself, after years (decades, really) of wanting one BTW, I highly recommend picking up one of the Atarimax multicarts... it'll save you a TON of money! Also, the ball-top joysticks from Yurkie are a massive improvement over the originals.

lazyhoboguy #18 Posted May 30, 2012 I too want a colevosion. After playing the arcade machine of the game Frenzy and loving it and it's challenging gameplay I wanted to find if there were any console ports. Turns out its only the colecovision. Now I really want a collecovision heh. I didn't realize that they are sort of pricey though. What is a good price? Seems like 70 or 80 bucks for a used one seems like the norm? cOLeCoHiTMan #19 Posted May 30, 2012 There's finding a ColecoVision, then there's finding a "working" ColecoVision. They are 30 years old. Common problems are uncleared distorted video (Power Switch needs rebuilding), controllers not working well (controller overhaul needed), controllers have mind of their own going directions (Controller Chips), funky letters on the screen (VRAM) You could find $50 machine on eBay and not be able to use it.... unless you are good at soldering, cleaning contacts and maybe have to order chips. I'd say these are the best options.. 1. Yurkie ... better than new with extra features... easier to use.. little pricier but he has to do the work! http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/172279-modded-colecovision-hardware-updated-wednesday-may-30th/ ColecoVision Sysytem (Picture is actual system for sale) Cleaned and Completely refurbished, then A/V modded (cord included), Pause button and Intro Skip BIOS added to the console. Controllers cleaned and completely refurbished to work like new with ball knobs and straightened cords.$179 + shipping 2. Site like Atari2600.com or 4Jays.Net (I'm blocked at work so I can't get link.. but he's $89 with 2 games) http://www.atari2600.com/ccp7/ecom-catshow/ColecoVision-Video-Game-Systems.html ColecoVision Video Game System Package. sqoon #22 Posted May 30, 2012 Ball knobs can be had from ebay for $4 a set, and with a little whittling and some super glue, you can do that mod fairly easily.
cOLeCoHiTMan #23 Posted May 30, 2012 Little more to Yurkie mods than just putting on a knob! LOL Ball knobs can be had from ebay for $4 a set, and with a little whittling and some super glue, you can do that mod fairly easily.

Look at this site in the Colecovision section http://www.atarimax.com/classic/forsale/index.html it has complete Colecovision for USD$50, though not specifies state. I found it lately. From atarimax.com I've ordered the AtariMAX Colecovision SD Cartridge and it works great, specially for development.
