Arkhan #26 Posted June 4, 2012 I started collecting Atari when I was in like 4th grade. I used to go to garage sales and buy all the crap for next to nothing. The sellers were confused and would usually ask if I even knew what these were. Then they'd be shocked when I would tell them what it all was. One time, they were so astonished they gave them to me for free. That hipster HUR DUHR E.T. CRASH GO BOOM crap is irritating. I like E.T. Screw the haters!
HatefulGravey #27 Posted June 4, 2012 I always had a collection on NES games, but that was more things that were left from when I was a kid mixed with a random pick up here and there. Normally I would just keep what other people I knew were looking to get ride of. I grew up playing the VCS because I had a uncle with one so I know where the love for the classics came from, but I didn't start collecting like I do now until my early 20s. I'm still hoping that one of the kids in the family will show interest in my collection. One day I'm going to keel over and it would be nice to have someone to leave this stuff to. Nateo #29 Posted June 8, 2012 I myself started around 1999/2000, when I was just twelve years old. I think it came from my faint early childhood memories of when my dad and mom would play Pac-Man and Donkey Kong on our family's Tandy 1000. Not to mention I've also had a big love of history. Love of history plus love of video games equals love of vintage video games!
