HatefulGravey #1 Posted May 31, 2012 I picked up an arcade cab that needed some work to make a MAME machine for my brother. The monitor only just worked and instead of dealing with that I figured it would make a good project for us to make something cool for him. Inside this arcade machine was a working Super Street Fighter II The New Challengers CPSII board. So, whats it worth, it will cut the cost of getting this cab cleaned up, re-imaged all over, and making him a MAME machine, or maybe I'll just trade it and come out of pocket for the parts. No big either way.
the.golden.ax #2 Posted May 31, 2012 Do you have the black base that the blue cartridge plugs in to? With the battery upgrade about $75. With it as it workin with the black base perhaps $50. The blue board alone around $25ish.
Crazy Climber #3 Posted May 31, 2012 If it was mine.... Street Fighter 2 CPS-II board only - $50 shipped With motherboard (black piece Ax mentions) - $80 shipped Complete board w/mother board and suicide battery removed/phoenix upgrade done - $125 shipped That would just be were I start, I would of course have a "best offer" option SF2 PCB's sell pretty well though
HatefulGravey #4 Posted May 31, 2012 I did some research so I have a better idea what I have here. I have the A and B board. I didn't know there were two parts as the clips that hold them together are still in place. The battery has not be replaced as best I can tell because the Capcom seal is still in place, so one would think getting into the case would remove that. I've looked into replacing the battery, looks simple enough. At this point I might just replace the battery and keep the thing. It would make an interesting display piece is nothing else and I do have hope to get more machines in the future, maybe I'll find a nice CPSII machine to play this in from time to time. This phoenix upgrade I have looked a little into and is a very neat thing. Something I would have done just to make sure the board could live a long happy life, but I haven't found information on who does this and what the cost is. Still looking. HatefulGravey #6 Posted May 31, 2012 You know, I have read 1000s of pages of information from that site and learned a mortal ton about all kinds of arcade games but I never looked at the forum. I'm not really sure why, but I don't normally deal with forums much. This is the only one I have been a member of for years now. So I sign up there thinking "hey, I like arcade games, and have a passion for keeping this that are normally falling by the way side working, I'll sign up and learn". Then I find out when I try to post that I need to give them money to "prove I'm real" or have an existing member recommend me. I find all this pretty odd. I've tried talking to some of the "big guys" over there via their businesses and they don't seem to answer direct email (Paradise Arcade) seems like a hard community to break in to. Bryan from Paradise arcade (armi0024) is VERY hard to contact. The guy is a doctor for his full time job though so it's understandable. I think the arcade parts store is just a hobby. His wife recently took over the email section of the store and she responds pretty quick though. Excellent customer service, I bought a bunk Redbox and they ugraded me to the latest xxxx in 1 free of charge, very cool
