sluggish page loads

Recommended Posts

For the past few days the site's been acting odd for me. Sometimes pages load quickly, other times quite slowly. At times they don't even finish loading.

I'm not seeing this problem on other sites.

CPUWIZ mentioned in a status update last night that there are "Facebook scripts executing on every page you visit, for no reason." I've also noticed that the Facebook account is listed as an active viewer on almost every thread I open, almost all the time.

Same here. It took this particular topic about 20 or so seconds to load.

Can we call an exorcist or something? This is ridiculous.

Hmm, that might be it. I logged out of Facebook and AA became responsive again.

Since the sluggish loads have been off and on, I'll stay logged off Facebook today and see how the rest of the day fares.

It worked fine yesterday after I logged out of Facebook.

Today I've logged back into Facebook and the sluggish behavior is gone. I also no longer see Facebook listed in the list of "users reading this topic". I saw it listed yesterday while it was sluggish, so that's probably related to the problem.

So basically we were just violated by Facebook and Zuck didn't have the common courtesy to leave us cab fare.

The week this topic was posted I had random issues with submitting a post where it would hang on the unmeaningful green dots at the top center. I just refresh the page.
