Arkhan #1 Posted June 19, 2012 www.ccagshow.com Anyone in Cleveland going to this? It's worth the 3$ to get in and see all the loot!

Tempest #4 Posted June 19, 2012 Sweet. I didn't know you were local. Well I'm about 3 hours away in SE Michigan so I'm not 'local', but it's close enough to drive.
Arkhan #5 Posted June 19, 2012 Oh, cool. Be sure to check out all the Turbo Grafx homebrew stuff I am doing.
Nateo #6 Posted June 20, 2012 I will be there! I'm really looking forward to it, and hoping I can score a couple games for my newly purchased Vectrex
Arkhan #7 Posted June 20, 2012 Oh man, the guy who runs the CCAG usually has boxed vectrex games, lol. Go go go!
Nateo #8 Posted June 20, 2012 (edited) Oh man, the guy who runs the CCAG usually has boxed vectrex games, lol. Go go go! YEEEESSSSSSS. This is going to be the best CCAG ever! (cue sentimental Christmas-y music) Edited June 20, 2012 by Nateo
Nateo #9 Posted June 20, 2012 I'm going. Tempest, are you going to have a table for Atari Protos?
Tempest #10 Posted June 20, 2012 I'm going. Tempest, are you going to have a table for Atari Protos? Nope, I'm just there as a regular attendee. I'm not sure what I'd actually put on a table even if I had one.

I'm not sure what I'd actually put on a table even if I had one. You could put overpriced sealed games like alot of other people do! lol One guy had Custer's Revenge and Beat em n Eat Em... but he wanted too many $$s for them. That is the ONE downside to the show. The resellers that don't actually *play* games but show up with a table of loot that they want top dollar for.
Nateo #12 Posted June 20, 2012 You can haggle a lot of them though - that's what I did last year, anyway. There's one guy who was there a couple years ago (the guy with the Pitfall Harry cartridge costume), who had really fair prices.
atari181 #13 Posted June 20, 2012 Some are high and some are more than fair, it's like any other hobby, some sellers are looking for top dollar, some have been in your shoes and are selling at or below wholesale prices. Lots to see. If you're looking for a copy of Air Raid or another R10 it's not the show for you. But lots of R1-R7 stuff loose and boxed can be had. Lots of fun as well! Arkhan #14 Posted June 20, 2012 You can haggle a lot of them though - that's what I did last year, anyway. There's one guy who was there a couple years ago (the guy with the Pitfall Harry cartridge costume), who had really fair prices. That dude is awesome. Him and the Digital Dinos guy make the place worth going to, just to see the Harry costume, and to play whatever Digital Dinos sets up on the wall. It's great when the vendor-folk are in it for the fun as opposed to the $$. Some of the people refuse to haggle. There are a few people who sometimes attend as vendors for the wrong reasons, in my opinion. Pretty sure that one guy was told not to come back the one year, and I am also pretty sure his game store went under. I think the two events are related! I'm not sure what I'd actually put on a table even if I had one. Not for around work or kids: Wish I could attend some shows. It will be a while still. Eventually I'll have what I need to get around. fiddlepaddle #16 Posted June 22, 2012 I'm probably going. I always find a few things I "need", and have fun talking to the vendors and other attendees. Usually a couple of coin-ops available as well.
Nateo #17 Posted June 22, 2012 According to the other thread in the Events sub-forum, there will be Robotron, Zoo Keeper, and Crazy Kong, among others.

atari181 #20 Posted June 24, 2012 Huge crowd, may have been the largest yet.
Arkhan #21 Posted June 24, 2012 (edited) Yeah, it was severely crowded. Good thing I wore a helmet. I was also severely disappointed in a few of the vendors. One in particular who walked around before the doors opened, buying crap from people. You're not supposed to pre-shop because you get in the way while people are trying to setup their booths. Also, you're not supposed to, because it makes you look like a shady toolbag when you buy the stuff from fellow vendors, and put it on your table for 2x the price.... its worse when you are looking the stuff up on eBay right beforehand to get prices. This is why we can't have nice things, people. Edited June 24, 2012 by Arkhan
CorTat-G #22 Posted June 25, 2012 Yeah, it was severely crowded. Good thing I wore a helmet. Wait, Were you that dude wearing the Packers helmet?
fiddlepaddle #23 Posted June 25, 2012 I had fun, but was disappointed. There was a long line that took over 30 minutes to get through. Also, there seemed to be higher sticker prices all around, though most of the vendors did negotiate. I bought about 20% of the amount of stuff I bought previous shows. Still worth going, but not as exciting. I think a bigger venue (and more cashiers) is required with a bigger crowd, but that will likely necessitate higher entrance and table fees; Ah, the pains of success.
