chadds #1 Posted June 25, 2012 Awhile back I picked up a very nice Adam Family Computer system from the original owner who had it for sale locally. With already having a 5 year old son, and another on the way in a month, I never had the time to really get into the Adam. I am pretty sure it is 100% complete. It has the original box with all the styrofoam packing still in place. Original manuals, cassettes and cases for the 3 included software cassettes. Computer, printer, Keyboard, controller and RF adapter. Everything seems to works as it should with the exception of the printer needing new ink. There is also approximately 20 additional software & game cassettes included, but I'm guessing they have little to no value as they have hand written labels and are more than likely bootlegs. The only other cassette with a printed label is "A Hacker's Guide to ADAM". I'd like to sell it, does anyone have an idea of what the real value of something like this would be? I've checked eBay, but can't seem to find any completed listings for one this complete. Normally I would just put an item on eBay and let the market determine price, but with the size and weight of the box I don't feel comfortable shipping it so eBay isn't an option for me. Thank you. Pixelboy #2 Posted June 25, 2012 First of all, welcome to AtariAge. If eBay is not an option for you, then you should really mention where you live when making a post like this on these forums. Better yet, you should use the AtariAge forum Marketplace. You never know if there's an AtariAge user who lives a manageable car ride away from you who may be interested in your Adam. If you do end up using the Marketplace, you should include pictures of the item in question. Anyway, to answer your question, it's hard to qualify the value of a complete-in-box Adam, as it depends on many factors (shape of the box, yellowing of the keyboard, how well it's been tested by you, etc.). At this point, all I can give you is a general ballpark figure, which would be 150$US.
