What I really want is the scart device and then a scart converter to Japanese 21pin. Ill post pics later

eBay Auction -- Item Number: 3209448674131?ff3=2&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&item=320944867413&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER]

This is the euro scart cable I have.

Thanks. Jag Scart cables are extremely easy for me to find. The issue is that my TV only accepts JAP 21 Pin RGB. So I would need a converter.

Hi guys,

Jag CD is not that bitch: the most common problem can easily get fixed and for cheap.

Now once you got a Jag CD run downloading the free demo of Discjuggler, then you will be able to burn about 50 CD of free homebrews (i.e. 2 times more than commercial released games on CD)...

Not that bad :)

How do I do that?

I am listing homebrews we can burn on CD-R here; http://www.yaronet.c...ts.php?s=146080

Although it is in french (nobody's perfect :D ) it will give you an overview of what you can get.

For the tools, most of the homebrews files you can download are in Jaguar specific format (.abs, .cof...) and have to be transformed by using Jiffi tool (downloaable from here: http://reboot.atari....boot/jiffi.html) into a .cdi file which is a disk image ready for burning with Discjuggler.

All those softs are free and for Discjuggler, no need to buy it as a free demo is enough (it does'nt have any expiration date and the size of the homebrews files to burn are below the limitation the demo version has so it suits perfectly)

Now if Discjuggler works well, some other disc burners may be convenient as well (maybe Toast...)

Using jiffi is very simple: you open it, you indicate the path of the homebrew file, you tick the .cdi format option and you execute it to get the file.

Jiffi will determine automatically the load and run adressses for most cases. In case it doesn't find them, you have to enter them manually: although those values are 4000 in most cases, I precise them in my topic when needed.

Now you can find many cdi. files ready for burning as well in my topic (and DVD box covers and CD deco for each homebrew) or from many homebrewers sites such as:

Reboot (Degz, Downfall, Kobayashi Maru, HMS RAptor, Superfly DX...) : http://reboot.atari....eboot/news.html

The Removers (Atomic, Atomic Reloaded): http://removers.free...oad.php?lang=en

Orion (Jaguar Collection, Osmozys, jungle Jag, DiamJag) http://onorisoft.free.fr/

Starcat dev. (commercial games are now donationware you can download such as Jagmind, Lost treasures, Jagworm) http://www.larshanni...play.php?file=8

Dr Typo (Shoot'en up, Tube, Tube Specail Edition) http://perso.numeric.../drtypo/jaguar/

(I do my possible to list them on my topic)

2 others things: although most of the homebrews can be burned with Discjuggler, some don't:

- few are using a DOS command (Asteroids and Tetris from here: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/boggyb/)

- some have to be burned with Nero (Atomic, Jagcode, Beebris, Do the same...): a free version of Nero is enough for that but just keep in mind this demo version works for a limited time (30 days if I remember well)

To give an idea, here are 2 pics of my Jag homebrews collection:

All the CDs on the shelf below are homebrews.

and thoses ones in CD boxes are mainly homebrews demos or betas:

Although the Jag CD has a bad reputation of being unreliable, expensive, using an encrypted shitty format of datas, for me it is still today the most convenient solution to play homebrews on a real jaguar: CD-R are cheap and easy to burn and no need for a computer to transfer any rom to the Jag: it sticks to the console spirit: just plug and play and it allows to put physically the games on a shelf.

Hope it helps to see the Jag CD's potential :)

Alternatives to Jag CD are mainly BJL and Skunkboard cartridge.

A cartridge using flash memory is under dev and sounds promising as well.
