Gunstar #51 Posted July 14, 2012 Are people just so starved and desperate for new Jag titles they would jump on anything? To try answering your question: First, many Jaguar fans don't necessarely own other systems and OOTW so that makes sense for them to play this game elsewhere than on emulator with pirated roms. Second point: coding the Jag is a hard challenge so seing a release of that quality is simply incredible for this almost vintage and unsuccessfull system: even if I already played OOTW on PC and on Apple II GS I will definitively purchase the Jag version just because it seems to be a state of the art. Third point: just for your info, Reboot, Dr Typo, Jagware group and others are releasing new games: this year we already got those new titles: Shoot'em up, Tube, HMS Raptor, Kobayashi Maru, Degz, Dance Dance Xirius, Black Hole and Black Out has just been release last week. Moreover, we already know that some projects are on the pipe: Elansar is a very promising kinda of Myst like, Rebooteroids is shedulded for late 2012/early 2013, Impulse X seems to be close to be released etc... Hard to feel desperate by lack of new games on Jaguar Now THIS is the type of answer I was hoping for and can appreciate ! I definitely understand it better now! Thanks very much Felyx! Well then, you should have specified that you only wanted those who have played it on other systems to answer your question!

OldSchoolRetroGamer #53 Posted July 14, 2012 (edited) Well then, you should have specified that you only wanted those who have played it on other systems to answer your question! What are you on about? Is it a communication issue? Whether or not anyone played it on another system had nothing to do with it! I could not "specify" anything because I could not understand what the big deal was, It was only after Felyx answered my questions and gave me more insight that I can now appreciate it more. I didn't get what that big deal was, I asked about it in a respectful and polite way, someone supplied an answer I can appreciate beyond "Because we can". It's over, let it go. Stop being so damn defensive about it geez, I really am trying not to buy into all the crap I hear about the "Jaguar" community but some of you really aren't helping. OldSchoolRetroGamer #55 Posted July 15, 2012 I could never get very far in this game, so trial and error. I recall being very frustrated by it back in the day, I was stubborn and persisted, it really is a matter of keeping at it and as you say trial and error. At some point I realized I had gone over the same areas so many times it became second nature knowing what to do and what not to do, seemed like I would just inch a little farther in the game each time but I was always fascinated to see what would come next. I enjoyed it on my Amiga but only had a demo so by the time I got a Genesis I had some early sections well memorized, finished it on Genesis followed by SNES when I borrowed it from a friend then when I got a SegaCD I enjoyed the sequel Heart of the Alien. mtshark7 #56 Posted July 16, 2012 Well OldSchoolRetroGamer seems to me you are gonna have to pick up a Jag and Another World so you can beat it for this system Also has there been an official release date for this game? I hope it's not before the 25th cos I'm broke as hell and don't get paid until then.

I can't see it being anything like that soon. The results of the survey will show what people want (but that could take some time until enough replies have been sent in). The results of that will then dictate what's possible. I imagine a pre-order could be required before the carts can be purchased, then they would have to be flashed & tested, all packaging made etc. That's probably going to take a fair bit of time all told.
Clay #58 Posted July 16, 2012 Not only so you can beat it in the Jag OldSchoolRetroGamer, but I would love to hear your comparison between the Jag version and the others. Did they make major changes, are the graphics about the same, a little better, etc... Zerosquare #61 Posted July 16, 2012 Did they make major changes, are the graphics about the same, a little betterThe graphics are definitely better than the "old" versions, as they're based on the enhanced version released in 2006. Here's how the original Amiga version looked like : And here's how the Jaguar version will look like :

Amstari #68 Posted July 19, 2012 I just completed the survey. I completed the DOS version of this game when it was first released. Looking at the screen shots brings back a lot of memories, but it was so long ago it will be great to play it again, especially an improved version. Major Havoc 2049 #72 Posted July 25, 2012 I just replied to the survey using IE on my Windows Phone 7. :-P Can't wait for this release. Played Another World originally on the ST and then on the Sega CD (included w/Heart of the Alien). Liked the ST version better, as the control was tighter. Looking forward to play the enhanced version.

Clay #74 Posted August 14, 2012 Dear all, I have set up a survey in order to evaluate the demand for Another World cartridges. Please fill the form http://removers.free...orld/survey.php if you are interested. We hope that the price of the full packaged game, including cartridge, manual and box will be no more than 60€ but as the price depends on the demand, you will be asked to answer several scenarii. Cheers Seb Just curious how your survey ended up and was wondering if you have any updates to the game you can share. Thanks
SebRmv #75 Posted August 14, 2012 Hi, about 150 people have answered the survey, so this definitely encourages me to finish the project. I am currently working on the packaging & looking for the best manufacturer possible for the carts & the packaging. I think I am a bit too short to release the game before the end of the year but first quarter of 2013 is (I hope) doable. Cheers Seb
