Received my copy today and was really impressed with everything. The box especially. Manual is super nice (high quality laser it looks like) and the overlays are the best modern repros I've ever seen. Cartridge and its label is top notch too. Played the games a little bit... DK seems a bit more polished and the new sounds are awesome. Just sat down to give it another try... DK Arcade *is* also bit easier, even the elevator stage it seems, and just scored 78700. :)

Here's a homebrew that truly deserves the professional fit and finish of the total package! Looking forward to getting to know the DK2 levels next.

Re: the overlays: whatever process you guys used, as a sideline, be nice if you offered repros for the entire Intellivision catalog - they're *that* nice!

GrizzLee,

Did you open the shrinkwrapping up and check out the cart yet? In your opinion, how 'authentic' are the overlays?

Of course I played it. The overlays look and feel just like the OEM ones from back in the day. Of course, I don't need them. It is a very nice touch.

I haven't played much video games this summer. So far, this one has the most play time. I just played another 2 hours or so. Awesoem stuff. I do wish I hada joystick. I may have to think about making one for this game.

Regards,

-GrizzLee

How far have you gotten? What do you think of the new levels?

I've gotten very little feedback about how the game actually plays. I keep waiting for someone to say, "I got to The Eliminator!"… But it hasn't happened yet. ;-)

I guess I got lucky and mine was set on ground transport via ox cart. The poor beast has to walk all the way from up north in Canada, to the south of Florida. :(

Well, not so south, really. I'm in the Tampa/Brandon area.

I just hope I didn't pick the wrong delivery method--it was a bit confusing. I thought I picked air-mail, based on some scary warning in the page.

Mine came through airmail. Did you get the notification that is was mailed?

All Small packets in North America go AIR to the USA....obviously, if it is in New York, or somewhere else really close, I can't guarantee that it will go AIR...in Canada, the shipping goes the closest to 12 dollars.....ie in Ontario, Xpresspost, but in BC probably surface shipping..... Remember, not all packages were filled and sent on the same day. Some went out later than others. Your mileage may vary. I was trying to fill a lot of orders at once.

As a rule, there is no email confirming shipment. I have a great deal to do as it is. Also, Small Packet shipping does not include tracking.

Flat shipments don't go through customs, so don't expect 5 day delivery on stuff going through customs.

I don't post frequently, but I got to play D2K a little today and I just have to say WOW! You guys did an absolutely superb job on this!

Has anyone posted pics of "The Eliminator" yet, btw? Alas, I fear I will never get to see it... I've only been able to survive through about 1 1/2 loops so far, thanks to the ever-unreliable Inty disc controller. How far into the 3rd loop is it?

Lol! I fear none of us will ever see it! Carl enjoys seeing us all get our asses kicked by his game! :-D

No worries, I did submit my order later than most--I left the confirmation window while I went to work in the morning, and almost forgot to hit SUBMIT when I got back!

Still eagerly waiting... :)
