SpendTooMuchOnAtari #1 Posted July 20, 2012 This is an interesting story I saw on Yahoo this morning: http://games.yahoo.com/blogs/plugged-in/rare-nintendo-cartridge-sells-12-000-200929505.html
Gabriel #2 Posted July 20, 2012 I have some of those, but mine are the ULTRA SUPER RARE Super Mario/Duck Hunt label and game contents variants.
icemanxp300 #3 Posted July 22, 2012 "The PowerFest '94 cartridge, while a serious treasure, isn't the priciest game in the world. That honor belongs to Stadium Events for the original NES. Two years ago, a sealed copy netted over $40,000 at auction." In my opinion this is incorrect information. Yea the game sold for that, but the exact item was relisted a week later and only sold for like $12,000 It's my personal opinion is was a rigged auction where people who knew each other or something along those lines, bid the game up way more than it was worth, so they could get a high premium for the actual sale. fdurso224 #4 Posted July 22, 2012 Hi guys, About four years ago, I had a chance to purchase this Nintendo Powerfest 94 cartridge for $40,000 dollars! Sadly I could afford it! Plus it was why over price even for that title of a game! The problem is for these rare, one-of-a-kind items is that you can't check back and see how much the last one went for! So something like $12,000 is not even an adequate price to accept or maybe it was at lesser value. Maybe that was to like a low ball offer. Who knows! Anthony.... Where do you see that the game didn't sell for 41k and ended up only going for 12k? I never heard/saw that.

SoulBlazer #7 Posted July 27, 2012 Re-read what I wrote. But you don't give a link or a source to where you claim it sold for cheaper. That's what I'm asking for.
Greg2600 #8 Posted July 27, 2012 The lengths those two went to was interesting. As with many protos I don't have much value personally in a game already available.

PsychedelicShaman #10 Posted July 27, 2012 I'm really surprised it wasn't sold for more. Did he not want to go through ebay?
fdurso224 #11 Posted July 28, 2012 Hi guys, The problem was how to price it? Something that's one of a kind is difficult because you get check for reference to see how much the last one went for! Plus this cartridge was not available to the public and even though its rare doesn't necessarily allow itself to be valuable! Anthony....

That's what I'm asking for. http://gametz.com/fo...380427.html#new read post 5 and so on. I may have been a bit confused and it might not have been relisted, it seems it may have just been a private sell for the game. long story short buyer never paid the 41k though Edited July 29, 2012 by icemanxp300
