nanochess #1 Posted July 31, 2012 Hi everybody. I've seen a lot with a loose Victory cartridge with "for colecovision" only label, what value would it have? The guy is asking a very high price, so better to ask here. Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance Victory "Coleco Vision Presents" only label is one of the rarest ( if not THE rarest) of all CV cart variants Very tough to come by! nanochess #3 Posted July 31, 2012 Thanks retroillucid. Any idea of a reasonable price? The remaining of the lot is of little interest for me.
retroillucid #4 Posted July 31, 2012 Any idea of a reasonable price? Any idea of a reasonable price? The remaining of the lot is of little interest for me. It's kind of though to put a value for these type of variants But let's say I know some collectors that would pay $100+ for this variant My guess is something around $
NIAD #5 Posted July 31, 2012 A recent eBay auction for a CIB Victory with the "Coleco Vision Presents" label variation and a couple other CIBs (Illusions, etc.) and a Star Trek box went for $177 a couple weeks ago. I knew I should have bid higher than I did, but knowing now who won it, any further effort on my part would have been fruitless. The way that I broke that auction down as far as flipping the other items, the Victory CIB with rare label variation came in at about $110-$120. Man, I wish you guys would stop talking about this label variation so that I could finally acquire one at a decent price!
retroillucid #6 Posted July 31, 2012 Victory (For ColecoVision Presents) label is one of the last variants I got actually , and own about 50 different variants I looked for about 5 years for this variant until I stumble across one, last year on ebay I paid about $5 for it, simply because most people don't know how this variant is rare So, May I suggest, be patient and you might find one for real cheap Jim, the last ebay auction you saw as indeed this cart variant, however the box was for ColecoVision & ADAM The only place I saw a For ColecoVision only box of Victory is on the POP Display If I remember it corectly, there were no mention for the Roller Controller on the box Makes me wonder if this box does exist? Wait, are Jim & NIAD the same person - cuz that would be a pretty boring knife fight Indeed, I am one and the same! Although I am a Gemini... so I do have an astrological twin who BTW, I will knife to kingdom come in order to secure this cartridge variant seeing as I have been looking for it for almost two years. I actually thought that this "Victory - Coleco Vision Presents" labeled cart would be easier to find and the "Venture - For ColecoVision & ADAM" labeled cart would be the one I struggled to acquire seeing as it just became known to exist last year, but then in the last six months a number of them showed up on eBay. I deeply appreciate your offer to part with the Victory cart and a PM will be on it's way. Just to make sure, this is the one you have:
NIAD #13 Posted August 1, 2012 The only place I saw a For ColecoVision only box of Victory is on the POP Display If I remember it corectly, there were no mention for the Roller Controller on the box Makes me wonder if this box does exist? You got a good eye and memory, Retroillucid. I know I looked at those POP Kiosk pics numerous times and always wondered about that pictured Victory and Turbo box on the bottom doors. The pictured Skiing box was just the biggest tease, wasn't it? I not exactly sure, but I think Victory was an in-house programmed game that may have originally been planned for use with the standard hand controller seeing as the "CV Presents" label does not state "For use with Roller Controller" like the "For CV & ADAM" label does. Also, the pictured box from the POP Kiosk does not have the Roller Controller pictured on it which makes sense since the Roller Controller was still in-development and not released until late in 1983 with Slither (which was programmed by Nuvatek). All this investigating is sometimes even more fun than playing the games... almost!

ed1475 #15 Posted August 1, 2012 (edited) According to Digitpress there are 2 versions of Victory. The CBS Victory has the quarks, paratroopers, and scouts that are missing from the US version. Is this true or just a myth? http://www.digitpres...s/cvvictory.htm Edited August 1, 2012 by ed1475
NIAD #16 Posted August 1, 2012 According to Digitpress there are 2 versions of Victory. The CBS Victory has the quarks, paratroopers, and scouts that are missing from the US version. Is this true or just a myth? I have heard that the CBS version (supplied in the CBS cart shell with CBS label) has these extras although I don't have this cart to compare.
