Shame that atari didn't have the wherefor all to get these into the market

 

Can't think of one good reason why atari bothered selling the division to mitsubishi, since when had mitsubishi had anything to do with telecommunications, probably would have done better if they'd sold ataritel to someone like AT&T or bell labs or failing that DT or BT

Mitsubishi has always been a conglomerate and have many divisions, one of which Mitsubishi Electric deals with communications, so yes Mitsubishi has lots to do with telcom.
