mark #1 Posted January 31, 2003 what is your top 5 favorite looking carts? with the ones i have, i'd have to say: 1) pac man 2)pitfall 3)battlezone 4)asteroids 5)joust
Witchfynde #2 Posted January 31, 2003 Uh, what do you mean exactly, as far as labels go? I'd say pretty much all of the Telesys ones...actually they came as two different kinds, a black and white label and a color label with a kind of hook at the front of the cartridge, those look the best, with the colorful labels. If that's what you mean, those, Asteroids, Video Pinball (even though the physics was pretty screwed, but I'm just talking the label here ), Stargate, Star Wars: Death Star Battle. JCroniger #5 Posted January 31, 2003 I like the original Atari labels. Very clean (and modern for the time). I always thought the pic labels were too busy.
Witchfynde #6 Posted January 31, 2003 yeah, i mean what is your favorite in terms of best label or overall apperence. Ok, then my list stands as it is Although I pretty much counted the Telesys games as one...well, except for Coconuts, that one was a bit silly...definitely Ram It and Stargunner rocked though. charin #7 Posted January 31, 2003 I like the picture labels of: Adventure Snoopy and the Red Baron Robot Tank (silver label version by Polyvox) And I like the following Brazilian pirate labels: Genus Digivision Galaxi Onyx Jr. ("Microsoft") - green carts! Jobf #8 Posted January 31, 2003 Telesys are pretty cool carts, as long as its the handle version with the colour label. My favourites though are the Avalon Hill releases. Cool cart case & label!
Krytol #9 Posted January 31, 2003 like the original Atari labels. Very clean (and modern for the time). I always thought the pic labels were too busy. Agreed. The lower case type is super cool.
Godzilla #10 Posted January 31, 2003 ive always liked the colorful nature of the tigervison carts. Imagics shiny silver labels have always been striking too. And I love the way the xonox double enders look, they almost look like a tool, like something you could use to tenderize meat or something.
+-^CrossBow^- #11 Posted January 31, 2003 Personally I always loved the Imagic carts also... But now I am really liking the look of the new Homebrew labels that are being created. Marble Craze with its sleek glossy black finish and that Marble coming at you is simply one brilliant label design. The label on the new Bezerk VE looks very nice as well. My all time favorite cart labels are the ones I will never have. Those are the labels of the original release 84 7800 games...like Centipede, Joust, Ms. Pac-Man. After seeing them in the flesh at last year's CGE...well...I had to wipe off some drool off the display glass...hehe..

sku_u #13 Posted January 31, 2003 My personal favorites as far as companies go would have to be the black Atari VCS picture labels. I always liked the earlier picture cart art the most. Avalon Hill, Data Age, Parker Brothers, Sears Telegames Picture Labels and some Zellers labels are fun to look at as well.
King Atari #14 Posted January 31, 2003 Best labels? I always liked the silver and red label carts from Atari.
dougy76 #15 Posted January 31, 2003 I like the CommaVid and Tigervision carts alot. Probably because they are so weird looking. Also, if you find one in the wild, you are guaranteed to have a good find. M-Network are the suckiest. They're ugly and annoying because you can't stack 'em right. t.skid #16 Posted January 31, 2003 Crystal Castles , and Raiders of the Lost Ark
MegaManFan #17 Posted February 1, 2003 The special label Activision carts always make me feel warm and fuzzy. Private Eye, H.E.R.O., Pitfall II, those are classics. I'm also very partial to the "thoughtful" look of the Othello art label, and the night label Imagic version of Atlantis is toot suite.

El Destructo #19 Posted February 2, 2003 We're not the only ones who dig Atari game packaging. Check out DJ Q-Bert's new DVD: (sorry about the crappy image quality...this is the best picture on the web, believe it or not)
SS #20 Posted February 2, 2003 I've always been a big fan of the way that Atari red labels look. I don't like the impression that the two small holes at the top of the cart inevitably leave, however.
MegaManFan #21 Posted February 2, 2003 We're not the only ones who dig Atari game packaging. Check out DJ Q-Bert's new DVD: (sorry about the crappy image quality...this is the best picture on the web, believe it or not) Of course Atari is gonna be hip with the hip-hop generation. I wouldn't be surprised if a rapper came out in the press that he had an Atari 2600 and a hundred games in his collection.

MegaManFan #24 Posted February 3, 2003 Well, I don't know about the music, but the cover is great! Q-Bert's music is great stuff. If you think you know what rap is, this is not that. His music is more "audio collage" using turntables and samplers and beats. If it wasn't hip-hop, you'd probably call it avant garde - I just call it good sh!t.
