OBO #26 Posted August 8, 2012 A PC-Engine/TurboGraphx ! Well I have had since last April a 50hz PAL TGX, used it 4 hours playing Blazing Lazers, put it back in the box (it was a NIB), shelved it, and... never played it again. The NEC consoles were so attractives to me in the 90's... Maybe if I can get hold of a Turbo Everdrive, I'll be interested in it again. Lost all interests in Amstrad CPC, ZX spectrum, C64. I concentrate now mainly on Atari game consoles and 16/32 computer range.
SRGilbert #27 Posted August 14, 2012 Even though I was an Atari guy, I wanted the Adam sooooo bad when I was like 12. Now, I've passed them up on many occasions because I'm just not into the retro computers and don't want to dedicate the space to it.
Keatah #28 Posted August 14, 2012 A pet mermaid. I sort of still want one now.
retrorussell #29 Posted August 14, 2012 I used to want a robot. Toys R Us used to have one in the late 80s that could scoot across the carpet, pick up and bring you things with a remote. There was also one that could spy on people and record their conversations.
Turbogfx #30 Posted August 14, 2012 For me I'd say that item was the Atari Jaguar..

onthinice #32 Posted August 14, 2012 Nice one bomberpunk I had a Phillips CDI but only played it for one game and sold it. A neat little system but not worth the space.
Reaperman #33 Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) In the early 2000's I really wanted a Tapwave Zodiac but launch was a month or two away. Then I went to vegas and did one of those media focus groups on a TV show about following budgets. The guy in the show swapped a couple days of his labor for an mvs cabinet instead of the intended payment of money. This seemingly upset everybody else in the program, including his girlfriend, to a great extent. ...But I couldn't help but notice that they didn't mention what happened to the unit, so obviously he kept it. Girlfriends can be replaced--an MVS is forever. It was my 'ah ha' moment. MVS cabinets cost almost exactly the same as Zodiacs, and after that moment I could barely even look at a Zodiac again. Even with them going in the $30-40 range on ebay, all they do is remind me of the awful mistake that I almost made so I haven't bought one. I don't think that show ever made it to television, so I'm probably one of only a few hundred ever to have seen it. A shame, because that rotten piece of crap somehow changed me. That specific episode was actually supposed to be about a young couple trying to generate enough money to get the woman a hybrid car which was (for some reason) allowed into the carpool lane where they lived. MVS to standard Jamma adapters are only $25 bucks! http://www.jammaboards.com/store/neogeo-mvs-to-jamma-inline-adapter-mvs2jamma.html Maybe I should start looking for one. Sounds like a better deal than trying to obtain a candy cab.
Robocop2 #35 Posted August 15, 2012 Neo Geo is one thing for me. I thought it was stupid awesome back in the day though. Ridiculously priced and I could buy thrice as many Genesis/SNES games for what one NG game cost but still awesome. Now I see they are near the same price and with a library as fighter heavy as it is, I would still rather have the cash to spend on Genny or Jag games or even the unspeakable horror of modern games. As far as awesome niche systems go, I prefer to stay with my Jag
retrorussell #36 Posted August 19, 2012 I used to want an accordion because Weird Al was my idol in the mid-80s. No longer want one.
SRGilbert #37 Posted August 20, 2012 A pet mermaid. I sort of still want one now. Fry: "Why couldn't she be the other kind of mermaid, with the fish on the top and the lady on the bottom?"
Keatah #38 Posted August 20, 2012 I wanted one sized like Tinker Bell. One that I could put in my pocket and take to school.
+FujiSkunk #40 Posted August 20, 2012 Baseball cards. I'm trying to figure out what to do with this mountain I have, now that I'm no longer really in the hobby. There's probably a bit of value here, enough that I don't want to just randomly give them away, but at the same time I'm not looking forward to the hassle of doing what's necessary to get they're worth. I'm leaning toward giving them to my roommate's nephew as a Christmas gift, but I'll have to clear that with his parents first.
icemanxp300 #41 Posted August 21, 2012 You gotta think outside the box w/them cards. I had the same problem about 30,000 cards mainly 90's. I couldn't get $50 for them. I posted a barter add on craigslist for video games. I managed to get about $300 worth of games/systems including a 3do and a jaguar for them. I did the same w/pokemon cards I took a chance on for $20 at salvation army. Traded them for a bunch of ps1 games including tomba 1 and 2 complete.
