Rex Dart #2 Posted August 8, 2012 It's alright. It's basically a Turrican knockoff, isn't it? I played it once & haven't cared to pick it up again.

Going to have to add that one to my wanted list now, never played/seen it
CGQuarterly #4 Posted August 8, 2012 I was actually surprised that no one had created a thread for this one already. I've played it quite a bit, and have had a lot of fun. Turrican is a game that I spent a ton of time with as a kid though, so maybe that's why. Definitely one of the most impressive homebrew games I've ever seen. I can't remember the last time I hooked my DC up, but I whipped it out toot sweet to play this game. Hard, but awesome. Chris
Asaki #5 Posted August 8, 2012 Does "homebrew" in quotations mean it's another Beats of Rage mod? *waits for the video to load*
OldSchoolRetroGamer #6 Posted August 8, 2012 Does "homebrew" in quotations mean it's another Beats of Rage mod? *waits for the video to load* Definitely NOT a Beats of Rage mod, just a game made by a small developer.
Asaki #7 Posted August 8, 2012 Now that the video has finally loaded a little bit; yes, that is what Turrican looks like
Drixxel #8 Posted August 8, 2012 I happened upon a video showing this game off awhile back and was immediately impressed by the in-game art, the sprites and backgrounds just look awesome. I'd love to give this one a spin, it may bring little to the table that the Turrican games haven't already but there's something awesome about classic game designs getting this sort of souped up homage. Crazy Climber #9 Posted August 8, 2012 Does "homebrew" in quotations mean it's another Beats of Rage mod? *waits for the video to load* Well, I put the quotes because I wasn't entirely sure. I know if you call Beggar prince or Star Odyssey a homebrew people will correct you pretty quick that it's more or an "english translation" From what I have read though this is a full blown 100% from scratch game made by a TEAM of talented developers (kind of like the awesome Pier Solar for the Genesis) Either way I am PUMPED!! I bought a regular AND limited edition for my collection, can't wait!!!

128Kgames #17 Posted August 9, 2012 I've been waiting to play my MVS copy for months now. It was supposed to work on the home (AES) console with an adapter, but doesn't. Been trying to get my converters modded so that they will work with it, but they still don't. Gonna spring for this once I unload some unused items to raise the cash: http://arcadeworks.n...nt-machine.html

It's pricey, but it's intended for arcade operators. I was lead to believe that this was a new game. Are their still arcades out there making enough money, and drawing enough new customers to make buying new games like this worth it? I certainly hope a place like that still exist, but they certainly don't exist around here. How I wish they did. I just assumed that the MVS games cost a good bit more to make. It would make since that making a new MVS cart would be pricey. I have been buying MVS games for a while now, and I know they get high, so it wasn't too far out of the question that this game was made for people such as myself, that being a collector of MVS stuff, but with much more money. 128Kgames #23 Posted August 10, 2012 Actually the MVS and AES versions were priced the same at 439 EUR, when the LE edition of the MVS was originally available. The only MVS version they have now is the standard edition, about 100 EUR cheaper. I know their previous MVS games were geared to the arcade operator, but I believe they have backed away from that business model. I would say the MVS cart is now more geared to those with an actual arcade MVS system or a consolized system (CMVS) that can be hooked up to your TV (think supergun). They aren't widespread like they used to be, but there are still areas that get new arcade releases.
