What kind of player are you?

Recommended Posts

When I play platform or single player 1st person shooters, I tend to be on the cautious side. I like to plan my moves and build up my strategies. I've been this way since I started playing computer games in the mid/late-80's.

This weekend my two sons and I have been swapping the TV game time, all of us playing Ratchet and Clank. I've noticed, that while I'm methodical in my approach, taking my time to explore the surroundings, get as much money as possible, and preferably kill from afar. In contrast, my older son typically likes to charge into the fray, taking on battles and whipping booty melee style! My younger son is just now getting used to the platform/shooter. But he seems to be interested in exploration.

So, what kind of platform/shooter player are you?

Adventurer/Explorer - Like to explore and see what the game offers

Warrior - Just here to fight. Point me in the direction of the next battle!

Other - Explain

Guess I would be a warrior.I charge in and cause utter chaos, get killed, and then start all over.

After getting killed 100x,I usually decide to rethink my game plan, and then become the explorer

I would say I'm an other kind. And if I were to label it, I would say I like to be an "Improviser" :-)

Generally, I like to make up my next move as I go along, in the heat of the moment. I like to stray away from the clear path the game dictates because this easily bores me, but I also like to keep the tempo up.

In FPS I'm methodic to kill but not an adventurer or explorer. I don't act like a warrior but I'm always looking for battle, aiming from distance, looking better path etc. I don't explore for money items that much.

Platform games? Mario like? In these games I'm much more like a warrior, I just jump into the action!

Adventurer/Explorer - I have poor reflexes so my gaming style is better suited to RPGs where you must explore, find items, and take on monsters in turn-based battles.

I'm a mix of both, I can spent time to explore but I'm not turning around every single pixel to find all the hidden things. It also depends on the game. If I so so like the game , I will rush trough it to finish it and play a new game, if I like a game I can spend much more time on exploring.

I take that back. After downloading DC Universe, I'm the guy who hates everybody on the game. Half these people are kids 10-13 with fowl mouths and headsets.. It's pointless with the sound up....

Sounds like an average night on Xbox live. I'd probably actually use my gold account if normal folks were on more

I'm a Perfectionist. I need to get 100% to consider the game beaten. However, sometimes being a Perfectionist lead me to being a F*ck This Sh*t.

When playing single player I'm slow moving when I know the enemy is around. I have been playing Fallout New Vegas recently and I love to get the kill long before the enemy knows I'm there. This method of moving through the game means I don't run out of ammo, I don't get swarmed by enemies, and I live to play another day.

When playing multiplayer I'm kind that runs into the crowd holding a granade and waiting to blow us all up because that is just funnier.
