SlowCoder #1 Posted August 25, 2012 Pretty well everywhere I go, I hear the only way to "fix" a worn out joystick is by replacing it. You can find replacement joysticks for around $10 online, which I don't really think is worth it unless you really want NEW. Otherwise, for about the same price, maybe a little more, you can just buy a replacement controller. The main problem appears to be that the dome inside the joystick gets worn out, very rough and uneven. If I knew the proper ball diameter of the dome I thought maybe I could coat the dome with a layer of resin/epoxy and insert a carefully measured mold (marble?) to reshape the resin in the dome and create a new surface. As an alternative to using epoxy/resin I could make a "sacrificial lamb" of one controller joystick and have enough plastic to fix others by melting it into the mold. What do you think about this?
