voltron #1 Posted August 28, 2012 Ok this is a correlation question, i was talking to someone regarding correlations and one that came up was that People who prefer Intellivision over Atari prefer Star Trek over Star Wars and those who prefer Atari over Intellivision prefer Star Wars over Star Strek, Well there is only one way to see is there is truth to this corellation and that is to ask you folks where you stand. so: Do you you prefer Intellivion over Atari or Atari over Intellivision. Do you prefer Star Trek over Star Wars or Star Wars over Star Trek note: I like them both equally is not an acceptable answer.

jaybird3rd #5 Posted August 28, 2012 Coincidentally, I've recently been playing through the first six Star Trek films (I like the classic show best and don't especially care for the later films), so I suppose I do lean more toward Trek. It's too bad there weren't any Trek games made for the Intellivision. On a somewhat related note, I'm surprised that Trek didn't inspire more arcade-style video games, especially in the pre-crash years. Star Wars got a bunch of them, but beyond Star Trek SOS, about the only Trek games I'm aware of are the adventure games (most of which came later) and the public domain text games. +doctorclu #6 Posted August 28, 2012 In the question of Intellivision verses say the Atari 2600, I have decided LATELY to be more Intellivision. Just a really cool system. As for Star Trek vs. Star Wars, have decided LATELY to be more Star Wars. Star Wars has Boba Fett (want to put together the Mandalorian armor and what not.) Costumes are better and more interesting. So what was the question? Was Star Trek more Atari? I mean I still love the original series, and I will eat up about about anything Star Trek (except Voyager). And this only applies for Intellivision vs. Atari 2600.

Rick Reynolds #12 Posted August 28, 2012 I'm definitely Intellivision over Atari. As for Star Wars/Star Trek, historically I've been more for Star Trek but lately I've found I lack interest in both. I guess I'm more of a Firefly guy.
OutlawTorn71 #13 Posted August 28, 2012 Intellivision and Star Wars of course ! Even though the tribbles are cool... nothing compares to Yoda
LynxVGL #14 Posted August 28, 2012 Well, on the 2600 you had 4 Star Wars Games (Jedi Arena, Empire Strikes Back, Death Star Battle/Return of the Jedi and Star Wars Arcade) while the Inty only got Empire Strikes Back. And the 2600 got both Star Trek Strategic Operations Simulator AND Stellar Track (the original Star Trek Computer Game) while the Inty got shut out. Unless you count Space Spartans. So I guess the obvious answer would by Star Wars/Atari.
DZ-Jay #15 Posted August 28, 2012 (edited) Intellivision/Star Wars (oops!) I want to qualify this. When I say Star Wars, I mean Star Wars--no "Episode IV," none of that "A New Hope" crap. Plain old 1977, "Han shot first," Star Wars: what I first saw in the theater when I was 7 years old. I don't care much for the sequels, and I certainly do not recognize the "Special Edition." As for prequels, well, too bad they didn't make any. I do like Star Trek, but it was an acquired taste developed in my adulthood. Star Wars has been with me since kidhood. roberto #17 Posted August 28, 2012 (edited) Well, on the 2600 you had 4 Star Wars Games (Jedi Arena, Empire Strikes Back, Death Star Battle/Return of the Jedi and Star Wars Arcade) while the Inty only got Empire Strikes Back. That's a very good observation, but the 2600 had a much bigger catalogue than the Inty in most genres so it shouldn't surprise us. Regardless, if I have to choose a side, I'm an Inty / Star Wars guy (the first 3 Star Wars, though, not the following prequels crap!) cheers!
