Memory-card-expander PS2

I bought yesterday a Memory-card-expander for the PS2 from BigBen Interactive.

Has anyone experience with it?

It is a part you plug in one slot and then plug your memory-card in it.

So you have double or triple memory on one slot.

I'd be curious to know if it works as I would get one if it does.

Is it sanctioned by Sony?

I remember trying similar products on the PSone and had problems with data retention.

I bought it yesterday, dunno anything about how secure the savegames are.

Nope, not sanctioned or licensed by Sony........these expanders work "most of the time" but I assure you trouble will come your way. The Sony "Dual Pack" of cards is pretty cheap and the Nyko licensed card is as low as 15-19$ in the U.S. and a much safer route.

I bought a "Harder Drive" by Joytech when I got my PS2.

Unfortunately it's the parallel port version and it needs to be plugged into a PC and a PS2 at the same time to function. When (if) I re-arrange my equipment I'll be able to hook it up permanently.

 

It functions as avertised though and effectively negates the need to ever buy more than one memory card.
