Have some complete Lynx games started to get rare?

Recommended Posts

There's always a good supply of Lynx carts on Ebay for whatever game you want. Telegames releases have always been rare, but I'm having trouble finding some other games complete. Ninja Gaiden (which I got in a good deal a week ago), Super Asteroids/Missile Command, Rampage, Block Out and Pac-Land are some examples. Are the supplies finally dying out?

I think 'new' boxed copies are drying out, there are more new collectors every month. Some people end up selling their collections so at various points the market will go up and down.

I really want a box and manual for xenophobe but its impossible to find...

It´s sometimes just a matter of time. I got some rare carts like Battlezone or Lemmings affordably (and spent the more on homebrows lol) because "time is money": You invest time to look and watch because you can save money on a bargain when it comes or when you meet a colelctor who changes his field of interest or swaps dublets with you, or you save time using Buy Now only. I guess it´s the same with everything collectable. Time is money. I´d say it will come along. Have you made a topic in the AA marketplace?

It's not that I'm actively trying to find them, but there are some games that surprised me with its rarity. Maybe I should try the marketplace, but I'm a bit worried because the community is very big and I might get scammed as there are no votes system.

In Germany you can get games from http://www.konsolenk...ri-lynx/spiele/

Thanks but I already got all of the games I wanted from them (when they were much cheaper)

I have very small quantities of a few games in stock such as Battlezone 2000 (1 copy left I believe), Roadblasters, Batman Returns, Super Ast/MC, and Blockout. Once these games are gone, I have no plans to restock since they're so hard to find nowadays.

The Lynx is a weird console like that - a good number of the games have always been really hard to find (Super Asteroids / Missile Command comes to mind) while others seem to have been printed in insanely massive quantities. I think that the commonality of a lot of the games have held down the prices on a lot of the rare ones... you just have to really watch for them.

Supplies are drying up somewhat, but honestly the Lynx just doesn't sell that quickly where I'd expect it to be any time soon many more go on that list.

For the most part I think it is the late releases that tend to be somewhat rare; Battlezone 2000, Gordo 106, Super Asteroids / Missile Command are examples. I would guess that those games had only very small sales expectations. Gordo was unknown, and the other two were oldies... not to mention the not-too-healthy Lynx market of the time anyway.

Of the old games Ninja Gaiden comes to mind as one that is a bit hard to get; NG3 on the otherhand is cheap although being a late release. In that case I believe there was a bigger production run because of the popularity of NG on NES. Did not pay off, obviously.
