+save2600 #3 Posted September 3, 2012 I'd love to make Winter my vocation, so will offer $7 shipped. If someone offers $8 though, do I get to make a counter offer? Wait, is this an auction? Public or private? I'd like to know if I'm up against anyone else that would like to make Winter *their* vocation. Who knows? They may just want a Winter vacation! +save2600 #7 Posted September 4, 2012 Last one I sold like this went for $150... Aha! Now we're getting somewhere. So.... why didn't you come right out and ask $150 for it then?
pangasinan #8 Posted September 4, 2012 Last one I sold like this went for $150... Aha! Now we're getting somewhere. So.... why didn't you come right out and ask $150 for it then? Because $150 is not a set price, there is no BIN price, its an auction. Thats why I asked for offers. Someone might offer less than $150 which I would consider. Do I really need to explain the principles of an auction to you,

Do I really need to explain the principles of an auction to you, Please do! Am wondering why someone who doesn't need to explain principles, is posting auction listings in the Marketplace. We have a sub-forum for auctions here. BTW: I guess the point of yet another "offer" thread turned nasty, is eluding you. Not trying to single *you* out personally, but c'mon. End result of these MMAO threads is always the same - a gigantic waste of everybody's time. Good luck with your "sale", auction, or whatever you want to call it. pangasinan #10 Posted September 4, 2012 End result of these MMAO threads is always the same - a gigantic waste of everybody's time. Really ,how is it a gigantic waste of everybody's time ? If it really worries you that much where its posted, maybe you could ask a mod to move it.
+save2600 #11 Posted September 4, 2012 I was once chastised here for posting BIN sales (not auctions) on eBay... 'Buy it now' are real sales, but mods demanded those type of listings be banished to Auction Central for some counterproductive reason. But today it's okay to start auction listings under the guise of "make me an offer" here in the Marketplace? Sorry, just venting some frustration over all the "offer" threads lately. Nothing personal.

I almost always state 'make me an offer via PM' in my sale threads, and I negotiate in PM, and never has any of my threads turned sour because of it. And I believe I get better prices doing it this way. I am always happy, and my buyer is always happy. If you don't like it, don't make an offer - simple! ianoid #13 Posted September 5, 2012 (edited) This belongs here. The auctions forum is to discuss auctions on other sites (eBay, gamegavel), as far as I can tell. And I like the separation so that this forum isn't spammed with guys like me advertising their eBay auctions.
