nukeshed #51 Posted September 20, 2012 I condensed some of the games onto fewer shelves and started moving some less important items into storage. Ive been considering doing this anyways, because, while I want to keep them, I do not need to display every sports game on PS2/Xbox/GC/PC that I have, so I am looking into storage boxes that will keep em safe. Same with other hardware I want, but have no 'use' for, like my CoCo printer, or such.

That's like banishment to Siberia to toys.
Arkhan #53 Posted September 20, 2012 My wife tolerates my stuff. She's not to keen on it, and my most recent purchase had her raising her eyebrows in irritation, but meh, I'm a big boy, I put on my Pull-Ups every day and I can do what I want, damnit! Oh. I just pee myself.

shadow460 #55 Posted September 23, 2012 After flipping a couple of medium sized lots of duplicate items, my collection doesn't feel as invasive, and my wife's perception of it changed a little. Not that she hated it before, but I think she has actually taken notice that I can recoup most, if not all, the money I spend on lots to pull single games from. We;re the type of friends, though, who can live with whatever inane stunts the other pulls off. She said not one negative word to me while I was picking up Intellivision games so fast over the last month or so. The only thing that even came close to causing a tin disagreement was when she lit a candle next to that Robin Hood game. I moved the candle and that was that. If she decides it has to sit where the Robin Hood game is, next time I'll move the game and allow her the spot she wants.

AtariLeaf #59 Posted September 23, 2012 I always find it funny that most of the paypal accounts that paid me are attached to a female name...Does it say who is controlling the family finance;) LOL, yep, our paypal account is in my wife's name. Way back when, when it was worth it to sell on ebay, she used to sell kids clothes and toys when she was on maternity leave for some extra cash so paypal has always been in her name. Alex.Pace #61 Posted September 30, 2012 Wives usually spend a lot of money collecting a lot of dresses and shoes and jewelry. Except jewelry (which usually mantain its value), after few years dresses and shoes value drops to zero. Instead, retrogames stuff tends to always increase its value in time (think of Spiker that decuplicated its value in ten years). So if you have problems you should point the fact that it is not only an hobby, but an investment, differently from shoes and dresses. If you want to quit your hobby you'll get all your money back and more.

nukeshed #64 Posted September 30, 2012 Thats a lot of Nike's. I thought Douglas Coupland was crazy when he wrote about shoe collecting in jPod... then I read more about the phenomenon. Then I shook my head and bought more games.
