+JohnnyRockets #4 Posted September 19, 2012 Thanks guys! I will check those out! Turns out the only actual "print" book I have, "Machine Language For Beginners" has it too. Thanks again. JR
Rybags #5 Posted September 19, 2012 What level of knowledge you have of 6502 in general and the C64 hardware and OS can also be a deciding factor. You can know the machine backwards but nobody can be expected to remember the variable/register names and locations so as a minimum the quick reference sections/sheets are useful to everyone. The C= PRG is useful but doesn't go too in depth with the hardware and doesn't have any of the modern day tricks. The C= hacking notes are a worthwhile read, they have lots of articles on most of the hardware exploits. Here's a zip archive, Notepad probably won't show them properly, use Wordpad or a WP that handles different formats. There's 21 of them, I don't know if any new ones have come out since I got them. C_Hacking.zip There's also a whole bunch of Commodore books that you can download here http://www.bombjack.org/commodore/books.htm
+JohnnyRockets #6 Posted September 19, 2012 Thanks Rybags! Yeah, my knowledge is way low... but I am having fun a long the way! Just learning now how to use DASM/Crimson Editor/Vice together and have started to "dabble" with examples from some books. Thanks for the ZIP file, I'll definitely check it out! Fratzengeballer #7 Posted September 20, 2012 If you need modern info don't forget to have a look at http://www.the-dreams.de/aay.html And http://codebase64.org/doku.php?id=start
+JohnnyRockets #8 Posted September 20, 2012 Hi Fratzengeballer! Thanks for this great resource! I seems that the C64 was quite popular in Germany as well as the States. I see quite a bit of good information on the C64 that appears to come or reside in Germany. JR
+JAC! #9 Posted September 20, 2012 Strange: How come there is no silly comment yet on "Somebody asking for a C64 book in an Atari 8-bit forum" ?

+Larry #14 Posted September 20, 2012 No problem, really. There are several of us here who are "closet 64" users and who appreciate the uniqueness of both systems. -Larry

Fox-1 / mnx #16 Posted September 21, 2012 The XL vs. C64 battles were fun when we were young, reckless and without a clue. Things have changed once we were older, reckless and without a clue.
