nukeshed #26 Posted September 25, 2012 Makes me wonder how close this game to an actual release.... Why do you say this?
Rev #27 Posted September 25, 2012 Why do you say this? Because there is this prototype box that was finished and ready for production. Unless they did this for alot of games and they werent ready for release or something?

nukeshed #29 Posted September 25, 2012 Ahh, I think I read that wrong, thinking that some industrious hacker had a ROM that he's been working on. I think that certainly art would have been done beforehand, but not a full box like that. Again, mind you, they also put together all those patches and whatnaught for the Olympics, so maybe since everything was rushed, they did it all at the same time. Steve Jones #30 Posted September 25, 2012 Alex I'd buy one or two depending on the price
+intvnut #31 Posted September 25, 2012 (edited) The games were done it was a multicart of its time. Basically a better rom chip would make this real easy to do. BTW, the menu is fully functional, and it's possible to strap the appropriate games into place to make the whole thing work. I've actually demonstrated it working. It is not bug free! IIRC, there's a glitch in Skiing that causes it to not initialize properly every time. But, otherwise, it largely works as expected. EDIT: I should say it's not bug free if you strap it together with the released versions of the games, which is what I did. I believe they did make minor tweaks to the games in the album (the BSR page says as much), in which case the bug may have been fixed there. Do i sense a homebrew you are working on? If so I want to pre order one. and if alex makes the repro box we have a complete game.
voltron #33 Posted September 25, 2012 I'll get an high scan of it to make some boxes if there is enough demand. I want two boxes if you make em.
Intymike #34 Posted September 25, 2012 There is another nice item for big investors: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 170911944347

It's not really a homebrew if I were to repackage and reprint a game that Mattel wrote, is it? "Homebrew" ought to really apply to games written by programmers that came to the scene later, like Carl, dZ, Arnauld and so on, not Keith Robinson and David Warhol. :-) After all, they wrote GFTG when it was their day job. EDIT: And to be absolutely clear, I only verified that GFTG could be reconstructed as a technical demo. LTO has no plans to put it on a cart and sell it. +cmart604 #36 Posted September 25, 2012 There is another nice item for big investors: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 170911944347 Not worth anywhere near that in my opinion. The last one went for $550 I think in January 2011
voltron #37 Posted September 25, 2012 I agree. I saw the posting when it first came out and saw that the rpevious ones never broke the 1k mark. This guy is starting the bid at 1900. Maybe if the bid started at 300 it would be ok but this guy is looking someones arm and there leg. I just dont like the way the guy set up the auction so I wont bid on this. What do we think about this?: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 170912884611 I already have Stadium, LF1 and LF2,so no;)
Alex.Pace #39 Posted September 25, 2012 Not worth anywhere near that in my opinion. The last one went for $550 I think in January 2011 I fully agree, to my opinion the value is between 400$ and 700$, I told this to david harley some days ago, it is nice that you also made exactly the middle evaluation

Alex, do you mean you're going to make 150 copies of the game? Or just 150 repro boxes and manuals? Either way, I'm in.
Alex.Pace #48 Posted October 15, 2012 Only of the box (i have only game factory manual ready at moment). It seems that it is not easy to make a game factory and gftg cartridge due to memory problems. Anyway I'm asking to my friends if it is possibile to make the cartridges too.
voltron #49 Posted October 15, 2012 cool, im in on the box and manuals too.
