Frogger beats vs seconds

In the frogger title screen they talk about 60 beats you have to move your frog into its home.

When playing the game on mame that means about 34-35 seconds.

I wonder if it is the same time on a real arcade.

Anybody knows?

Looks like it is around 33 to 34 seconds on the real thing, as best as I can calculate. So it sounds like your MAME timings are pretty accurate.

I'm wading through very dusty memories here, but I seem to recall I once saw a warning on an arcade game, maybe Pole Position, that game time was not necessarily the same as "real" time. I guess depending on the hardware and other code involved, sometimes it was easier just to say "this is a second" instead of trying to make it match a real second.

 

By the way, this doesn't happen to mean you're back at work on Froggie, does it?

It has to do with it, I wasn't sure if the given time was to short or if my bonus calculation was wrong (it was the time bonus).
