I actually really like Vid Grid even though it doesn't have a whole lot of replay to offer (how many times can you watch the same few music videos). How can you recommend that to someone who 'just bought' a Jag CD? Buy an actual Gorf arcade machine, or two for that matter. Cheaper. RJ Posted September 28, 2012 Share Posted September 28, 2012 (edited) Myst if you haven't played it. I also like Hover Strike UC (10 bonus missions over the cart version & cool but pointless FMV). Highlander is playable/finishable but not so great. I also second Iron Soldier 2, BattleMorph, & VidGrid. I wish they would've made more VidGrids. Lots of good feedback and insight. I think the general consensus is that, yeah, it's worth picking up. I will concur on Hoverstrike as well. With the CD version, it's actually playable now. Not many of the others were very good, although I had fun with Vid Grid. The best use of the Jag CD, though, is for playing homebrews, if you don't have a Skunkboard. You may only need one for some of the older ones that were sold a number of years back. However, you can use Jagtopia as a bypass as well. World Tour Racing looks decent, but it's one of the few games I don't have, and I don't have my hopes up about it. The CD library is a pretty big disappointment. For most of them you need to download Jiffi from the Reboot website and the free trial version of Discjuggler. Most of the times the load and run adresses are 4000 and for most of the homebrews Jiffi will set them automatically. In case it doesn't just enter manually 4000 for both adresses. With Discjuggler, simply chose to burn image disc and that's it. Some homebrews are to be burn from the dos prompt and some others are in nero .nrg format: there are trail versions of nero available from the net but beware they work for a limited period of time (30 days if I remember well) Very few homebrews are not encripted and require a by-pass but as Sauron already answered, no need to buy a cartridge: just burn Jagtopia on CD-R: it replaces a by pass cartridge: just turn on your Jag with Jagtopia in your Jag CD and once it stops to spin, replace it by the unencripted CD, close the jag CD door and that's it. 4 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Felyx Posted September 28, 2012 Share Posted September 28, 2012 Regarding the commercial games, like others I would recommand Iron Soldier II and Battlemorph but if the Jag CD doesn't have that much titles don't forget Myst (which is usually easy to find and cheap), Soulstar (unfinished but awesome game), World Tour racing (it allows 2 players to race on splitted screen) and the jigsaw game Vidgrid (based on videoclips from Red Hot Chili Peppers,Gun's N Roses, Van Halen, Metallica, Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Soundgarden…) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
